What three words would you use to describe your most recent vacation?
I went to Guadeloupe. I only went for 6 days because that's all I could afford. There were a lot of things I didn't get to see and do, because it was a very difficult place to get around without a private car.
The people really made up for it, but if I were to do it again, I'd probably wait 'til I have more money so I could go for more days and either stay in a different area or stay in multiple areas so I could explore each island properly. I also probably wouldn't visit during the off season again, and I would either use private drivers, group tours or go with someone who feels comfortable renting a car and driving there, because the bus system is shit.
That’s what the grown-ups said to write in the journal when I got back. Not "fun" or "relaxing." Just: Too. Much. Silence.
We went to this cabin near a lake. No Wi-Fi. No other cars. Just pine trees and that kind of fog that looks like it’s thinking. Mom said it would be peaceful.
But the grown-ups don’t like peace. They get loud in places like that. They stretch out. One of them started humming at night through the vents—old music, scratchy like a record with teeth.

I went to France for a cycling holiday with 4 friends, and I paid for the holiday a few months before I was due to go.
I enjoyed the holiday mainly because we had sunshine every day, and of course because of my friends, but I didn't like the early morning flight, and getting up early every morning for breakfast, so we could start our rides early.
When I returned from my vacation, the hotel returned my hotel costs. I contacted the hotel and told them of their error, but up to now the hotel has not asked for their money back.
Time is the defining factor to know I'm really on vacation. You just need to know when the sun comes up and when it goes down again. No worries, no stress, no obligations.

I technically went on a staycation couple weekends ago, because as my parents went on actual vaca. i had to watch the dog but i was also in a summer class this summer so, i needed to take two tests that week. I slept most of the time though, and i was very bored. i had the house to myself, just me and the dog
