Do you take political views of the local population into consideration when chosing a travel destination?

No, unless a good portion of the population is extremist in their political views, as it may create a hostile environment for tourists.

So far the country that's off my bucket list for now is Spain. Not so much for political views of the local population, but because I hear they hate and are rude to tourists and even have massive protests against tourism.

Depends, I dont care to travel to places where the majority disagrees with most of my opinions. Hell I live in such a place. They need to be democratic opinions though.
I would try to avoid places where I know half of the city voted for neo-nazis or fascists. Especially if the laws already changed to something that would make traveling dangerous.
