+1 yI'll check if it's safe to visit. The UK government publishes a list of dodgy places best avoided and those you need to be extra careful in an ad shouldn't visit unless absolutely need be. I can't remember which American states are considered no go areas.

Our state department does that too. They often exaggerate though. I'm curious what YOUR state department is saying about travel to the U. S.
I loved the Bahamas one. It said, "Exercise increased caution due to police killings of black men. If you DO get stopped by U. S. police, be calm and cooperate." - +1 y
Under Trump we were told not to visit

Are you serious?
And they really broke those down. But I honestly thought they were being generous with those. LOL
And you're more likely to be killed in a mass shooting in a public place, then a deserted place, hence the name.
But yeah, I really think you guys went easy on us. LOL

There used to be warning to avoid football matches - +1 y
Totally serious I remember seeing it on the news

@purplepoppy yes I remember this and I still agree 🤣

"Terrorists are very likely to try to carry out attacks in the USA". I don't recall a major terrorist attack in the US for the last 20 years.
As for crime, I can't imagine any entire state being considered too dangerous to visit, though there are definitely some parts of most large cities that should be avoided. - +1 y

recently my Japanese student showed me a warning about new york and chicago, for crime danger, probably other cities too. dnc is too soft on criminals. crime is not detterred.

to purple , content trump, that was just kuz trump "dared" to touch the queen, personal revenge.
- +1 y
@strateguy632 You're not supposed to touch the King or Queen, and that dirty bugger should have known that. Then again, we can all be thankful Joe Biden wasn't there. He'd have sniffed her, and played with her hair.

@Siri137 Biden walked in front of King Charles, which is also a no no, and just as bad.

It doesn't matter, it's all temporary. I did the DMZ tour in South Korea where you can step foot onto the North Korea side. It was pretty cool, you even have to sign a United Nations waiver as they can't 100% guarantee your safety even though there really hasn't been a tourist incident on the border. But there was that US soldier that completely crossed on his own free will and got detained several months ago.

If they can't guarantee your safety and they don't wanna be responsible if something happens, maybe they shouldn't take tourists there
1.3K opinions shared on Travel topic. To some extent; I won't go to North Korea on principle, though there really isn't anything there I want to see anyway. But I did go to China.
But safety is more of a consideration than who is in charge.

I meant more politics of the people, not the government, though they do often go hand in hand
- +1 y
Yeah, more along those lines, but it can apply internationally too

Quebec is conservative though. And I think Orban's a great man, but I agree with you on the rest
- +1 y
safety is related to who is in charge, look at democrat run cities, "chicago new york California... oh my."
+1 yIt doesn't matter to me. People should be free to lie how they want, just as I should be free to live how I want. If I'm traveling, it's either for work or vacation and my priorities lie in those, not changing the opinions o a place I don't live or plan to stay in.

Yeah but it don't stop me otherwise I for sure wouldn't of gone to America at all lol.
It would stop me if said place was 100% unsafe, like a place not even locals want to be in which was for sure a thing in America not so much here.
I think it politics and that more matters when it comes to living than taking a trip, a trip you go in come back out it's not a big deal.
I also wouldn't go on a trip without a purpose so I am more directly in and out, which means I ain't dealing with anyone outside of that purpose really. Like America was for a Gig and outside of that I mostly stayed inside not dealing with anyone, and at that Gig there was likeminded people.
So overall kinda. And yeah I always prefer and hope it to be a more liberal so voting that for sure, though I don't think even the most liberal area of America is close to England's so still eh either way lol.02 Reply- +1 y
"place, not even locals want to be in, which was for sure a thing in America" that is so absurd, Americans aren't pouring out of America. instead people are pouring in because u. s. is better than most ___ the word trump said and is offensive but he was right.

Bro there was literally a KKK camp near where I was, and another place nearby where white people basically don't go otherwise time to get shot. So on both ends there was two major extremes of places no locals wanted to be.
Then in Chicago, well do I even need to explain or are you so ignorant you've never seen the place.
Yes, that image really is disturbing. It's got the American flag in it.

i think he meant "bra strap guy".
When I get to travel, it’s based on reasons that have nothing to do with politics.
