18 could be a week or two week vacation but that's about it.. they say we are going to have to move there for many different reason and all we need is one reason to stay here it's call Politicians quit being so fucking Greedy and stripping away planet earth but they don't care they won't be alive. I guess none of them have grand kids

People often paint space as this upcoming new frontier where the best and brightest of us all will be able to leave Earth and start new, but as always, the problem was then, is now, and will forever be, us. Since it is currently impossible for one to go into space alone, that means, it will have to be you and others. All the complications of politics, class, racism, sexism, and on down the line don't die in space, they fester.

Unlike on Earth, where at least you can move away, or find a new tribe somewhere else, or seek refuge, in space, you are trapped, quite literally, with whatever a-holes you end up with and there is no escape. I know, I sound all doom and gloom, but I'm a person who dealt with 5 roommates in only 4 years in college, trapped in a tiny cell of a room. Only two of them were decent people, the rest were completely nuts.

Beyond just trying to get along, I would miss trees, and birds, mountain hiking, and soft breezes, and flowers grown in soil attached to the planet. Virtual reality can never make up for that. I don't want to spend life looking at red soil or staring through a porthole.
