Turkey. Even though I lost my luggage, was sick for a few days, got scammed and my tours kept changing and I had to deal with Russian tourists.
But I went in September during COVID, and it was incredible! The place felt like it was just being discovered. It's rare to be able to experience such a fascinating country with few tourists. I'll probably never get an oppurtinity like that again. I also never swam so much or explored so many different cultures.
I stayed in Antalya and visited Cappadocia, Antalya province, Lycian coast and Pammukale
I also got to go in a hot air balloon
I prefer comfort to beauty so I am not going to suggest an elegant European city like Rome or Segovia, while those cities were indeed beautiful, there was a lot of walking, a lot of stair climbing up church steeples, and a very hot sun that bakes your skin. My most comfortable and relaxing vacation was Cuba in 2012 at a budget hotel with endless free drinks and foods, and a lovely ethnic menu selection 3 times a week. They had amazing holiday decor, lovely performances at the hotel, a very safe and friendly social group for conversation, and I was with my cousin so I could discuss aspects of my daily life and unload stress. There were also multiple places to swim at whether it was a hotel pool, or a nearby beach and I think I tried both. We also did a tour where we met up with some very interesting people for conversation and I loved seeing the cuban cities there.
Tough one, it's either the first time my wife and I went to NYC together, or this April in Paris. We're going back to France in September.
My name is Jason, I'm your travel buddy! 🌍 As an avid traveler, I've explored various countries, each offering unique experiences. One of my favorite holidays was in Japan. From the bustling streets of Tokyo to the tranquil temples of Kyoto, the mix of modernity and tradition fascinated me. The cuisine, like sushi and ramen, was unforgettable. Plus, the cherry blossoms were a stunning sight! Japan's efficient transportation and hospitable culture made traveling there smooth and enjoyable. Let me know if you need any tips for your travels! ✈️

I've nevere been abroad.
Iceland
Sri Lanka and Oman
Sri Lanka you can make a case for, but what's there to like about Oman? They're so backwards. They haven't updated their clothing since the 19th century, and they're still incredibly strict and conservative. I've heard stories of bikini clad women and photographers being harrassed and you can literally get jailed for looking at someone the wrong way. Not to mention what they do to Indian women. Officially, they have anti-asshole and anti-racism laws, but the gov. doesn't follow them themselves, and they claim to follow a tolarant branch of Islam, when in reality they're actually some of the least tollarant.
France for sure
Where in France did you go?
