I've never been a lay on the beach guy. We have two distinctly different types of beaches here.

• Sandy with waves. Here I'm in the water for probably 6 hours surfing and body surfing.
• Rocky beaches and a rocky bottom but almost no waves. Here I'm in snorkel gear playing with the wildlife. Pulling lobsters and crabs of of their hiding places.

I generally only come out of the water for a short 15 min rest and something to eat. The most I can sit still is maybe an hour.

I rarely swim in the ocean. Most of the time at the beach, I am relaxing in my lounge chair, enjoying the fresh air and prople watching. When I go in the water, it's usually just to wade around, get cool, no deeper than my waist, most of the time water just up to my knees.

I'll go for a refreshing dip in the sea if it gets too hot.
