I know that I am having a very difficult time with the way the atmosphere around me has been getting worse for years, and now I live in fear more than I used to. I hate 😒 to say it, but it's true.
America 🇺🇸 was such a great country to live in for most of my long life, but not anymore. I don't even recognize it compared to how it was while I was growing up. It's sad to live this way. 😞

It got bad since the 60s. We're trying to make it better but it's hard. I hope Trump really cracks down this time. It's going to take something like Nayib Bukele's massive prison to clean this sorry mess up. And it's got to be filled with actual traitors like communist professors and university administrators, corrupt judges, corrupt officials and the commie scum that support them. Then America will be safe to live in.

I blame politicians. Both major parties keep telling us how the other side is the Devil and electing them will mean no more elections. This absurd rhetoric tends to radicalize the weaker-minded amongst their followers and can incite violence.

It was worse when Biden was president. I felt like I was living in Bizzaroland. It seems to be getting better even though I live in a real cesspool state.

I don't know much about the situation in the US. Most countries in Europe, at least those I know or have lived in, are relatively safe, except for certain areas in bigger cities where you have to watch out, especially at night, and never show you are a tourist. I've only been robbed once and that was in clear daylight in a very tourist area.

The area I live in now is quite safe, although you do hear things happen at times. I'm more worried about my teenage daughter not being able to walk certain streets in the evening than for myself.

Hi! Yes, it is quite concerning now to be a parent try to not be worried because we worry about our children the minute they come into the world. That is if you are a good parent anyway.

Very true. Children are for the rest of our lives, even after they move out. Worry settles in the day you take your newborn baby home from the hospital.

That makes 2 of us Sage, I feel so incredibly fortunate to have grown up in the era I did. Sure we had a president assassinated, the war in Vietnam, Kent state, drugs, guns, police brutality riots , more. But we also put a man (ok 2 men) on the moon and brought them back safely, we had amazing music of all kinds, if you showed respect to police you most likely were treated with respect gas , food, entertainment were affordable. We had no internet, phones were communication devices that stayed home on your wall, if you needed to speak to someone when out and about there were payphones. Sure these things werent idealalways but they worked , I for one was comfortable with the life had from kid to adult. But man have we screwed that up.

I'm young but can say that even in my short life it has changed dramatically. Even just 15-20 years ago it seemed much better, safer, and simple than this. It's getting worse and worse and at a fast rate too, especially after COVID.

You are right things are definitely getting worse. As for being scared to live. I'm not scared. I 'm living on borrowed time. I should have died in an accident years ago. I live every day to its fullest.
