Does the state of the world scare you?

Question

With the political unrest in the UK, Taylor Swifts concerts in Vienna being cancelled due to a planned terrorist attack being discovered, the upcoming US election which is bound to stir up some 💩, Palestine and Ukraine... I can't help but feel utterly defeated with how much hatred is in the world right now.

The battle between good and evil has always been going on since the start of human history. There are only times that it gets a bit more heated. What is happening to the world is undoubtedly horrible and cruel and would better not have happened. We can consider what is happening today as an after-effect of years of Imperialist Western tyranny. Today the world is fighting back. The West enjoyed having a monopoly of power for the last decades, but this monopoly is disappearing these days. The West would seek to undermine and devastate any entity that was not willing to succumb, either by waging horrific wars or by imposing cruel sanctions. But today, new powers have arisen and are fighting back. We are at a transition stage and the political structure of the world is changing. That's exactly why you are watching wars in Russia and Ukraine, the Middle East and soon in East Asia between China and Taiwan. Now every country that lacks voice in today's world order attempts to win a share for itself in the future world order. On the other hand, the once powerful countries are taking their last breaths and resort to any sort of action to extend their lifetime and stay afloat!! The international organizations whose sole purpose of establishment were to preserve peace, have failed to do their job. What is happening in the world is quite natural!! Did you expect any better world after years of US intervention in the national affairs of other countries, carrying out military operation all around the world and supporting the most oppressive and diabolical regimes like Israel? Of course, at some point, people say "enough" and start to fight back.

The Ukrainian conflict is scary, due to the possibility of it escalating to nuclear war.

The main problem facing our civilization however really stim from the lack of Children for decades now which has created a lot of our modern issues. Its not just the goverment ponzi schemes its the entire economy which is effected by too few workers for retires.

A fair share of the inflation and much of the dept we are currently burdened with is a direct result of low birth rates 20+ years ago and it will only get worse.

The rest is caused by immigration used to offset the effects on wages for the elite. Immigration which ironically is only making the birth rate problem worse as the immigrants prevent the competitive wage increases needed by the younger generation to afford to raise their own kids.

Yes, you're right. The world is in a sad state. I have given top looking at political news. I still know what goes on but I am not looking at any presidential rallies, not even commercials. I turn them off quickly. The war in the Middle East is very frightening and it's escalating to include other countries. So, the only solace I have is to turn to God and try and have faith that He will take care of this world in HIs own way. We are powerless to do anything but witness it all and bear it. I am not a religious person per se--not a church-goer--but more spiritual. In times like these, I feel the only way to stay sane is to turns thoughts to Him, and pray. I do the things I enjoy doing, relax as much as I can and not get wrapped up in the current state of this world. For now, that's all we can do, really.

Not anymore. I've seen this kind of animosity before, just on a vastly smaller scale. Anyway, I've seen it coming. The only problem is that it has not yet gone either way.

To be honest, the public unrest in UK does not matter to me that much. It's native British against Muslim immigrants and their descendants. Whichever side emerges victorious, I'm fine with it. The British are mostly cool people, but they have been foolish, blinded by the left-wing for so long and they might end up paying the price. I'm also fine with Muslims, as long as they are not on my country's soil, demanding sharia law to become national law. At this point, even if they did, I might only oppose making Islam the only permitted religion. They are mostly in line, ethically speaking, so they might end up being the solution to the secular Europe problem.

Taylor Swift is a total stranger to me as well. I've heard that she's making people mad with her blatant disregard of the "ecology" nonsense, so I gues I like that she survived, but otherwise, I know next to nothing about her and I don't care about her concerts. Unless I'm sorely mistaken and she performs either classical music or heavy metal, then I might be interested.

The impact of the US election on the planet could be almost negated by taking care of all the US supercarriers, though admittedly, it might incite new flashpoints around the globe.

The almost total lack of empathy towards the Palestinians currently undergoing genocide by the Israeli hand might be the most troubling part for me, but still, I had enough time in my life to get used to the fact that if the victims have bad enough PR, they will not be defended. It's pretty similar with the Western proxy war with Russia in Ukraine. The Ukrainian people were foolish enough to allow the West to antagonize them against Russia in order to fulfill the Western geopolitical agenda, and no matter how much I pity them, I can do nothing about the result myself.

Thus, as the West is losing its iron grip on the world, resenment begins to resurface all around the globe and not much can be done to prevent it. It's either the Apocalypse or some miraculous rebirth now. If it's the Apocalypse, then just allow me to buy some popcorn - this world had it coming. If it's a rebirth... All I can do is survive and take part in the rebuilding effort. Since I do not plan on commiting suicide, I'm fine with both the Apocalypse and the rebuild scenarios. So... No, not scared the least bit. Just cautiously waiting for any signs that I have to leave my country immediately unless I want to outright die. Defeated? Possibly, but I never felt like I could win against this world in the first place, so what's happening is not exactly a defeat to me.

The major difference between now and centuries ago is technology, and the rapid dissemination of information. Hatred among peoples has always existed, just look at the numbers of wars and genocides that have happened over time.

Does the state of the world scare me? No, actually just the opposite. For both business and pleasure, I've traveled all over the globe, and I've found that most people are very much alike, and we are all learning that, which makes for a better world, not a worse one..

Yes, it's concerning, I'm not proud to be a human given what I see on TV and I think we are devolving in many ways. Wind the clock back 100 years or 200 and there was a lot of misery. I'm concerned we will repeat a lot of that again.

you aren't the only one. REalize though when I was a kid, Vietnam war was on the news. There's always something awful going on. But as we know, it's generally not necessary... what a waste of life and misery.

Yes. But it scares me because of how many people either think that what's happening is normal, or that it isn't actually happening at all.

People's capacity for denial gets a lot creepier when you can see that they have information that contradicts their opinion immediately available. That becomes willful ignorance and it does a tremendous degree of damage.

It's just a part of being human that we have to learn to cope with it and stay as positive as possible and do our part to make things better where we can.

I think the fools in the west who are pro Hamas & Hezbolah should meet their heroes. Just like the unarmed peace activist at that peace concert in Israel met the "reasonable", "open minded", "poor, victims" with machine guns. Anyhow, it's not in my nature to live in fear. I trust God that all will turn out well in the end. But yes, it's going to be a very rough ride and at least 1/3rd of the world's population won't make it.

Of course, the world has become a much scarier and more dangerous place over the last 3.5 years because the man and woman in the most powerful positions in the world, and with the most influence over whether things go good or bad, have been weak, incompetent and ineffective. And we are poised for the possibility that things will continue down the same path if one of those people is elected as POTUS. That is the scariest thing of all.

I was but i honestly think we are going in the right direction. and this maybe optimistic of me but i foresee if the US defeats fascism and the far right it will have a cascading effect around the world. France and the Uk led the way with their elections and i have much more faith that we will prevail here too. There is a lot of unrest right now and people are frustrated, so they go out and do/plan stupid things to hurt other people in the name of change. In the end it doesn't really change much, some of it's pretty appalling.
