I have lived in both, sort of. There are things I like about both. But really the decision would depend on the exact location.
I would NOT want to live in the same part of Oregon that I mostly lived in before. I wouldn't mind living on the east slopes of central Oregon though (which is probably where that picture is.) I lived there for a short while and liked it - didn't like my job, but liked the area.
There are probably more parts of Texas I'd want to live in than Oregon. It has a lot to offer. I would probably live in the hill country, the SW desert, or maybe the coast. Even the panhandle would be OK - I don't think you'd hear too many other people say that though.
Both states are pretty varied both geologically and culturally. So there is a lot to pick from.
Anyway, I think my answer will tilt in the Texas direction
Oregon is the Simpsons with Californian sensibilities (remember, the show is technically a hybrid of values of California living and Oregon looking suburbia)

Oregon is too far left for me. At least as crazy as California, perhaps even worse.
Many people people would feel the same way about Texas
They think that Texas is also too far left?
No, that Texas is too extreme politically for their liking. Come on. Don’t be stupid
Say what you mean.
Fuck the desert, hard pass
You didn’t say that about California. Desert covers about 40% of California’s landscape lol
And it covers a lot more of Texas
Nope. Actually, less than 10 % of Texas is considered desert 🤣
Don’t care, fuck that place
