I met some people at a hostel a few months ago, and unfortunately didn't manage to get anyone's Instagram. Through the page of the hostel, I found someone's Instagram account and through that I found the others. would it be weird to message them and ask to add them? This is just for a connection but it has been a few months. I don't meet new people that often unfortunately.

It is not only weird but plain stalking. If a person does not give you her contact, then you simply don't stalk them and go behind their backs to try to find out as much as possible about them.

You placed your question under the "Travel" topic but it should have actually been either under the "Dating" or the "Sexuality" topic because we all know why you want to contact them since I presume that you are talking about women rather than men here.

If you did not ask for their social media account, then it is to your loss. I would be really upset if I had any social media and I would find out that someone is trying to stalk me.

if the connection was really good and you believe that you will have good Friendship with them its best to add them ofcourse. But be sure they also liked to talk with you too

That would be weird. It means you tracked them down. Don’t do it. If they wanted you to have their IG, they’d have given it to you.
