I don't drive that much now, but I have in the past, and on 4 wheels and surrounded by steel, ice holds no worries for me, but I show it respect.

Riding a motorcycle on ice and snow is more of a challenge, but I've had no problems though I only travelled locally and not far.

Recently unbeknown to me though, I followed someone on an area covered in sheet ice while riding my cycle, and unfortunately he brought me down.

The moral of the story is don't travel when there is ice about unless driving with suitable tyres.
