Have you ever been far away from home and met someone from your area?

I meet people from Jersey all over and it's always kinda funny because nobody hates this place more than us. I mean I love jersey but most of us are obsessed with leaving.

Anyway I'm in Durham. Im talking to this office staff and the boss is like can you tell who here is from Jersey everyone here is the same complexion nothing obviously different but I immediately just knew there's a certain body language we have and we were laughing hysterically over it because I even guessed her city and she guessed mine.

Someone said something about living by water and lots of good Asian food but the hills are a lot and I was like, you're from fort Lee? 😂

Twice. I was on a trip to Florida with family a long time ago and while I was there, I bumped into an elementary school classmate who was at the same location. No planned get together or anything like that.

Then there was a time I was playing soccer overseas in Chile, and I saw someone on one of my old teams who had moved there watching the games I was playing in. Really made me think this world is a really small place.

I was in Africa this summer. . Ended up talking to this older man and his friend in a hotel lobby. We got into a random conversation about weather. Through our conversation I found that they are from my city all the way back in the Canada.. It was so random because our hotel was not in a touristy area.

i ran into my neighbor from LA on a street corner in New York, there were a billion people buzzing around and we ran into each other, we both laughed forever and then went to lunch 🤷‍♀️

One of my professors said he lied about not going to NY, because he didn't want to meet up with his buddy who was also going. He though there's so many people, there's zero chance hell run into his friend. He ended up running into him and he felt so awkward.

Yeah, when I was in Barcelona, I took a day tour to the Pyrenees and there was a guy in my tour group that lived an hour and a half away from me, which may seem like a long way, but considering the size of my country and state, it's really not.

And one time, my dad saw his co-worker in Salt Lake City shouting as passersby, "I am not in charge here!" LMAO

I've never been too far away from home... but I've meet people from my same neighborhoods before, at different states and either on Mexico/USA
