Yep - China at 21, Bali at 22, Poland at 25,
Thailand at 28.
Other trips were with my then friends or boyfriend.
It’s fun to go solo, on my trip to Bali I made tons of friends… Beach nights every night, we had 30-40 people gather with us, sing, dance and party every day and we took trips around Bali together, so it was safe. We were a team. Once got lost in Ubud jungle with a friend too. Love that memory. I am only in touch with 3 of them today though.
In Thailand I made exactly 17 friends… From all over the world, Kayaked, Snorkeled, Rode a horse in the ocean, jet skied, cave canoed, visited a floating village in the ocean.
In Poland , just 1. It was cold. She was Female Formula 1 racer. We went karting.
Go for it! It will be amazing! Don’t let being alone bring you down. It actually opens up more possibilities. I had great fun with my friends and boyfriend, but my solo trips were the total blast.
I flew to another city to see a now ex when I was 16 but he and his parents picked me up from the airport and I didn't go out and do anything on my own. Flight was nice though, had a whole row to myself there and back
Kewl
Traveling by yourself is cool though. My partners cousin came to nz from the uk and traveled all over by herself and enjoyed it a lot
just one. once i went to puerto rico by myself. I really enjoyed it. You make your own schedule, eat where you want to eat, see what you want to see, do as much or as little was you want to do, etc, etc.
Drive to north carolina and back, same with Virginia flew to Texas and took a bus to Tennessee. Those are the hilights

Solo trips can be amazing. I’ve done many, including city breaks like Seattle. You set your own schedule, move at your own pace, and really get to know a place.
Seattle solo tips:
- Stay downtown, Belltown, or Capitol Hill for walkability
- Visit Pike Place, the waterfront, and the MoPOP
- Take a ferry ride for views
- Join a walking tour or food tour to meet people
If you share how long you’ll stay and your budget, I can sketch a simple solo itinerary for you.

I traveled alone long distance internationally but met up with people at my destination.
I have traveled alone on road trips but it was only a couple of days. I was participating in an event.
Come on over anytime lol
Excited for you. I always wanted to go to Seattle. It's on my list.
We can meet up in Vancouver 😅
Jinx ! I posted before I saw your reply
haha well its gonna be like the first weekend in September for that video game convention :P
I think we'll just miss each other lol. I'm traveling in August
ahh nuts. well im thinking of maybe a whole week so i can sight see on the way up there and also see most of Seattle when i get there. then do the convention, then drive back. :)
We can figure it out
Not really, I did go on a 7 day school trip where my sister and best friend also participated and obviously my parents weren't with us.
Well i wouldn't expect someone your age to go along to trips but maybe if you get to your 20s it might be something worth trying
Yeah, I do want to go on several trips alone after earning heck load of money.
ohh ill take some of that cash whenever you get it pwease!
jk lol
Everyone's getting cash after I get rich! Gah! Better than buying an island!
Thats right go to school, get degree, earn lots o money, give me most of the money you earn. thats your purpose lol... jk
No, but I will be in August this year to celebrate my 25th & have a few days break from kids.
Oh nice? just locally or you going somewhere big?
Local, to the capital of NZ and going to spoil myself rotten with good food, a nice hotel room and a day session of tattoos lol.
Excellent. get it girl lol
No more than a daytrip. I feel isolated when I'm away from home on my own. I'm not the kind of person who can start a conversation with a random stranger.
Shorts trips yes. Nothing big.
What was it like? did you meet anyone? where did you go?
Frequently.

I always meet people on my trip doesn’t mean I’m gonna hang out with them outside of maybe joining each other for dinner drink or whatever sometimes we keep in touch after the fact, but mostly not. Personally, I love traveling along it’s peaceful.
