Have you ever taken a random route just to see where you end up?

I am at a rural place to see a famous temple and there are no Taxis, only designated buses, with Chinese characters, I speak Chinese but I struggle at reading 😂

So with whatever little Chinese characters I can read, on my way back, I followed one of 7 routes possible and many people are going that way with that bus. Let’s hope it’s going to be a nice place! I am curious!

After this unknown stop, I hope to find a taxi and the Next stop is going to be a Tea Plantation.

I've done it hiking and walking around some cities. After I already saw everything I was supposed to see.

But just getting on a random bus, no way! I like to have everything planned out miticulously. Sometimes when driving our own car, we'll see a sign for a random attraction and decide to check it out, but other than that, no.

The closest I've come was in Guadeloupe. I thought the bus was going to a fort, but it went to town instead, so I decided to just explore the town.

And in Greece, I knew where I was supposed to go, but the driver didn't speak English and I had no clue what my tickets say, so I just got on the bus and hoped it was going to my destination.

Oh, I wanted to tell you, I didn't know Shanghai had an Old Town. I thought it was entirely modern.

Whenever I'm out and I have time, I prefer not to look at a map or follow directions. I love photography, so exploring new territory and taking little side streets is what I usually do. Whenever there's a tall building, I use that to find my way back.

Of course, when you're alone, you should watch out where you go. You quickly get a feeling of the neighbourhood and possible threats. At night, I stay on main roads.

When on an organized trip, i. e. bus or cruise ship, time is always a factor to take into account, so I don't venture far.

We used to do that all the time growing up. Go to the city with no real plans whatsoever. Those were some of the best times of my life.

did it one time at the mountain woods too lmao.. and we ended up in the middle of nowhere quite fast, and it took us hours to find any trail back to civilization, lol...

Yes I have and when I use like Google maps and such I don't make the right turn when they tell me to make the right turn I've continued to push it and push it and make it correct me and and correct itself I should say to get me to my destination just to see the site

I used to get off work as a pizza boy and just drive. 23 at the time, Some of my adventures lead me out of state until the transmission in my car stopped. Effingham, Illinois.. There was no signal so I walked a few miles and found a house where the lady let me use her phone. Long story short, it cost me 400 bucks to have my car towed back to Indiana and another 800 to have the transmission refurbished.
