I've never specifically intentionally gone out on a backpacking trip during any holiday but I backpack and live out of a tent summer, spring, fall, and winter. Winter, holiday season in the US, has it's own challenges and rewards. There are no bugs or humidity to worry about in winter weather. And winter landscapes can be really quiet and beautiful with undisturbed snow cover. But cooking and hygiene in freezing temps can be annoying. And mobility can depend on snowshoes or cross country skis. And you'll almost certainly be carrying more weight, different tent, more clothing, more fuel for a stove.

I absolutely do I haven't been camping in probably 5 years and that really sucks because I used to go just about every weekend I have a boat we would go parasailing fishing skiing inner tubing and just go out to the lake to have a good good relaxful time and I really miss that

It's definitely on my list of favourite things to do in life. I don't need anything fancy like in that image either. Just a tent with my partner and/or friends and family right in nature, and I'm literally a happy camper.

Honestly, I prefer the comforts of home. Sleeping on the ground with the insects, pooping in the woods and no shower is not my idea of a good time.

@Cidknee I see. We used to go up to camp every weekend to cut the grass. If we came home that night, I was fine. If we spent the night, I ALWAYS woke up with a nasty cold!! Partly because of the creek running past the front of the house and partly because my grandmother rarely ever cleaned off the dust from the bed sheets and blankets. And I'm allergic to dust AND grass cuttings!! Dad's smoking didn't help, either.
