lenadunhamThis may look like a blurry shitty iPhone pic but here's what it actually is: an image of my father on his zillionth ER trip of the year with me last month, checking to make sure no one came into the room who didn't need to. This man has been with me day and night: as I slept after surgery, as I was wheeled into an MRI, as I lay abject and feeling sorry for myself. He made friends with every nurse. When I got home he blended banana shakes when I wouldn't eat, woke me up with my meds at 3am and made me laugh every day. He gave up his own busy life to make sure I could return to mine. I'm healthy and safe because of his unyielding love. On this Father's Day I want to celebrate all the men who defy the signals culture sends them and nurture, nurture, nurture. I love you Papa. You're my best friend.

I dont get what's she's trying to say. Sounds sexist, I can imagine the uproar somebody saying mothers better werk would get on mothers day. I think good fathers need more respect. Anyway I could never take a person who abused her little sister seriously.

her opinion is related to her real life.. maybe she suffered with her dad or they're not in a good terme... maybe he left her with the family or she"s not a legal daughter "soory for those doubts" it's just a point of view* so that she doesn't appreciate the fatherbeing anymore... b'cause i don't think there's someone on earth who's living peacefully in a happiness with his family and dares to say that but anyway i think it's totally disrespectful

my father is one of the greatest men to ever walk the face of the earth. I'm sorry for her if hers wasn't. But there's no excuse for seemingly attacking all fathers on a day meant to honor and show gratitude for the men we have in our lives. :) Imagine if she spent her time tweeting and exploring actual feelings of thankfulness and gratitude for the people in her life, instead of spreading hatred toward others. The world would be a magical place. We'd probably have unicorns and all that shit. :D
