Personally, I just roll my eyes at this shit and go about my day, but I can see why someone who is part of an ethnic or religious minority might feel a bit threatened of uncomfortable. Affirmative Action hurts Asians, not whites. How do I know this? Look at the Demographic of California's top universities once they got rid of Affirmative Action. Admission rates for Blacks, Hispanics and Whites all declined, while Asians were the only one that saw an increase in admission rates.

If the Ivy Leagues got rid of Affirmative Action the same trend would play out there as well.

Also me pointing out how Yale gives preference to jews is important regarding affirmative action. You can also find an article on wall st. journal highlighting how affirmative action has 5% of the population meaning jews occupying almost 50% slots at Harvard and most other elite Ivies, wheil non-jewish whites are the most under represented of all.

Well according to practically every site I've came across, American universities are still dominating the list of best universities in the world. So what exactly are you talking about?

As for Yale and it's Jewish population, that has nothing to do with affirmative action. Jews were accounting for a large portion of the Ivy league's student body long before Affirmative Action was implemented.

Yale was a jewish uni for a long time by their own design and affirmative action solidified that.

Many of the Universities on that list are state universities, not Elite universities that only the rich can get into.

Also why are you bringing up PISA. PISA measures the performances of those who are around high school age (usually age 15). PISA is more so a measurement of the public school system (K-12), but it's not a measurement of public nor private universities.

Americas K-12 school system is average at best and that is no secret. However, like I said earlier, our University systems are top tier which is why you have more internationals coming to college here then vice versa.

Apparently not if American Universities are still viewed as being the best in the entire world. The same Universities that uses Affirmative Action the most (The Ivy Leagues) are the same Universities who dominate the list of best universities in the world.

Also, the admission process for your average University take in consideration many factors. SAT scores is not the be all end all. If it was then a great portion of college students would be nowhere near a college campus. Universities also take into consideration other variables such as GPA, difficulty of classes taken in High School, geographical location, income of family, life struggles and whether you can bring something to the student body that the average kid can't.

The admissions process is a lot more complex then "Oh his SAT score is not that spectacular... DENIED".

- If you come from a wealthy family who can easily pay the high tuition of college then you will most likely be accepted.

- If your wealthy family give a $2.1 million donation to the school that you want to attend then you will be accepted.

- If you are an international student then your application would most likely be accepted.

- If you're an athlete then you'll most likely be accepted.

- If you come from some small Midwestern town, then your application would be put ahead all the other applicants who come from well known large cities.

- If you're life was filled with extreme adversaries, then you're application would be put above those who did not have such adversaries.

- If you're parents are alumnus of the school that you want to attend, then your application will most likely be accepted.

See your post doesn't make any sense. You mention Berkeley and Stanford, but those two Universities reside in a state where preferential treatment has been banned for 21 years. On top of that, their rankings are still very high. Stanford as of 2018 is tied with MIT as the 5th best University in the US. And Berkley is tied at #21 which is pretty damn good for a Public University.

This decline that you keep referring to among American Universities is not proven by any type of source that I've seen so far.

None of those articles says anything about Affirmative Action lowering the ranking of universities. If you actually took the time to read them, you'll see that both of those articles are more concerned about the effects of Affirmative Action on minorities, not the institution.
