The PC crowd is waiting for obesity to become accepted as normal, then they will start the campaign to tell us that obesity is harmful and we need to lose weight.
Yeah that's stupid. Interesting how no one is bothered by the fact that toys for boys all have men who have six packs though. If I didn't know any better I'd say that would be a double standard.
Ah now you're just mincing words. You said toys for boys. LEGOs are toys that boys play with. Also a lot of Japanese boys toys don't have 6 packs. HARO doesn't have a six pack. He's been around 40 years. A Zaku doesn't have an sixpack.
Unless your child was fat, i expect ' she' would be disappointed😥 but 'he' would love it because you recognise he's gender neutral or what ever he calls himself these days!, lol.
True, but im afraid you have to accept the reflection looking back. Not to be ashamed, but get over it, it is what it is, girl you fat, and unless you curb your eating you getting fatter!, lol.
I think we're too frightened to be honest incase we offend. Well if it offends then its your hang up not mine, thats my opinion. Truth hurts, but better than a lie😁
Well yes, its unattractive, its greed!, glutenny!, there are mirrors, you clothes getting tight, you know when your getting fat! and if you then cry that your fat and ugly, well its something to do with all the cake you keep shoving down your throat!!🐷🐖🐽
Lmaoooooo. I've seen everything 😂 my sisters dream is to be a weightlifter. she's like 8. Shed prolly buff this barbie up in the gym with her 😂 shed be like. Santa prolly had heat stroke in north pole and fed barbie too many cookies. Dead.
Dont raise children with TVs They won't desire toys as much. You can give a child one meaningful toy, instead of hundreds of meaningless toys. Children are honest. They won't like a fat barbie, barbie is supposed to be beautiful.
I don’t think they should sell skinny or fat Barbies. The regular barbie is unhealthily skinny and “body positive” barbie is unhealthily overweight. I think they should sell healthy-sized Barbie.
I'm not buying my kids that kind of dolls. People should be encouraged to be healthy. I don't understand this whole body positivity thing. Youu can @me... idc
I’m sorry but I don’t quite understand how underweight or overweight Harborne is considered “body positivity”. Both are unhealthy, why jump from one extreme to another? Let’s just have a healthy one.
And I tried to type in harborne and my phone tried to autocorrect it to hambone actually that would be a good name for this plus sized barbie lol. But I completely agree as someone is very overweight it doesn't feel great to be made fun of or be self conscious all the time, but I think obese barbie sends just as bad of an example as anorexic barbie oops i mean Harborne. Its completely insane to let our children girls and boys (where's fat balding men btw?) think that it's ok to strive to be overweight and unhealthy. Nobody should hate themselves and body shaming isn't very effective but we shouldn't go the other way and encourage it.
But yeah I agree. Promoting an overweight doll won’t solve the issue (they’re just thinking of marketing profits). The issue remains in education, support and people not shaming others. Address that. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure it out does it.
As I noted on another comment, health should be the goal. The resulting beauty is just the natural consequence. (Take care of your body, and your body will take care of you.)
I think after seeing so many girls being skinny and smart almost everywhere on tele or in ads over the internet it will be quite hard for kids to accept a Barbie like that coz they have altogether a different image of Barbie in their minds
Yeah as all the clothes are standard size and if you do that then things will be more expensive and the bigger barbies won't fit on planes and buses etc and on a second note it'll cost a lot more too
A baby or really young kid probably wouldn’t care what kind of body the doll had. An older kid would probably prefer a regular Barbie unless it was a fat girl who wanted a doll that looks like her.
WalterBlack has the right idea. A child will get more character building benefit from a good example set by his/her parents than from a not-so-average doll. Just give a child average sort of doll- let their character and imagination do the rest.
Yeah, I think little girls might care. Especially when the doll ain't gonna fit into of the clothes they already own. But what do I know... I've never been a little girl before.
I hope not. I would not mind if my daughter liked Barbie for her personality in shows and books, but it would be unacceptable to like her for her ugly shape and bad health.

That is just wrong it reinforces its good to be unhealthy. Something of a more realistic figure would be fine.
Hell I'd hate to see it in a 2 piece bikini!
Yeah that's stupid. Interesting how no one is bothered by the fact that toys for boys all have men who have six packs though. If I didn't know any better I'd say that would be a double standard.
LEGOs don't have six packs.
@October808 Okay, what about he-man, every single super hero ever, GI joe etc?

@October808 Not really.

I think if you have a fat girl a fat barbie she'd be upset because you are telling her she is fat.

Well being is something to be ashamed about.

Well being *fat* is something to be ashamed about.
Well yes, its unattractive, its greed!, glutenny!, there are mirrors, you clothes getting tight, you know when your getting fat! and if you then cry that your fat and ugly, well its something to do with all the cake you keep shoving down your throat!!🐷🐖🐽
I'm not particularly positive about anything. I say we have people remain sad and lonely until they deal with their problems.
To quote Christopher Titus, "you can get offended, or you can get a treadmill"

Who exactly turned fat = positive? It boggles my mind too
@24brownish exactly. There's nothing positive about that. The mere fact that they need a movement to feel better says a lot about them.
Its always hard to find 'them'.. other than when they are in a rally or anonymous... u hardly find an individual who will admit to being one of them
I’m sorry but I don’t quite understand how underweight or overweight Harborne is considered “body positivity”. Both are unhealthy, why jump from one extreme to another? Let’s just have a healthy one.
*Barbie (not Harborne)
Lol I'm going to call her harborne from now on
@MYNAMEISN0B0DY 😂😂😂 my bad!

@MYNAMEISN0B0DY 🤣 that’s funny!
But yeah I agree. Promoting an overweight doll won’t solve the issue (they’re just thinking of marketing profits). The issue remains in education, support and people not shaming others. Address that. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure it out does it.
That was supposed to be fat balding Ken* but yes mam well said:)
Seconding that!

There's no such thing as body positive coz fat will always be ugly also because its unhealthy.
Yeah, it's possible, since kids can get fixated on some really random things.
Also, this is relative to a society's standard of beauty, so the answer is: Maybe?
Kids generally don’t care about that stuff. They will be happy to have a doll.
how is being fat body positive?
thats more like being body disrespectful... or body sabotage,
making ur body healthy is body positive
by the way no, i dont think any child would like that lol
