+1 yNo, and it's not because it's outdated. If there's anything the Internet has brought forth unto the world, it's choice. There is a diverse collection of people, with their own opinions or comprehensions of what is going on in the world at any given time, that simply does not exist in newspaper. Not many companies these days still engage in the medium of the printed word because it's cheaper to publish a website and also because once the words are printed, they can't be revised en masse; on the one hand, it means exposes that people don't want released can't be redacted, but it also means that false information can't be recalled.
A logical consequence of the fact that very few publishers still print newspapers is that you are only getting the information from certain companies and, going deeper, certain people in those companies. Those corporations are often more interested in what sells than what''s true or accurate, and because they control the flow of information through their paper, only their perspective is seen.00 Reply

I never really did. Newspapers have never been too informative about anything. Now that the internet has taken over they’re blocking their site visitors from viewing their content unless they are paying subscribers which is hilarious to me. They are killing themselves slowly. Anyone with half a brain would adapt to the new advertising model, make the content free so that they still have influence and then self advertising for a premium price under the guise of superior quality content and name recognition.

Anonymous(25-29)+1 yNo. I follow news on Facebook and see what happens but i'm really only interested if it's something that's happened locally like in my city and around it. World news, reading about wars etc. is boring and same old to me, I already know what state the world is in and what countries always gotta pick a fight.

Not a physical paper but I read the electronic versions of newspapers. By that I mean well-written, researched and supported journalism that offers at least two perspectives on the central issue. So much of what others call journalism are really just editorials. People who cannot distinguish journalism and editorials are supremely uniformed.

00 ReplyYes. Its the only source I have for local news. Our TV stations come from a city 150 miles away so we are an afterthought.
I also like to do the crossword on paper. Its not the same on an iPad.00 Reply
+1 yI do. On Sunday’s. Mostly to catch up on all the local stuff that’s irrelevant to my job during the week. I focus on the national and international news more during the week. Local on weekends.

+1 yNot much. We used to get a newspaper to our mailbox every day, but my father thought it was too expensive, so he quitted it, which is fine. You get the news from the tv and the internet.
