The most likely reason or the only probable reason they would need to conceal the origin is that it leads to their military and/or state sponsored labs. This would be enough to topple the CCP and restore the people of China. The damage and war crimes to be unveiled would launch Nuremburg Trials again that would reach around the globe and undo some in the CDC, WHO, vaccine manufacturers, and others unknown yet. Unfortunately, the US would also be involved and that would include Biden but really his masters being he is incapacitated. It would be like giving cops access to your house without a search warrant. They can legally do whatever they like as you've "invited" them in. Instead of waited for a search warrant to specify what they are specifically there for and under whose permission.

That’s stupid. No in fact it’s probably the opposite. International investigations are HEAVILY moderated by both the people BEING investigated and the entire rest of the world. If they actually had nothing to hide they would be completely open to one because the police DO have a warrant.

It’s not like the world just suddenly decided that they were potentially to blame. They were the FIRST country to have any cases and they failed to report the new disease to the CDC for months. They were caught with a smoking gun. What they’re doing is like stopping the police from searching your home when they’ve got a warrant from the high courts. Yeah maybe they didn’t have anything to do with it. That’s why there needs to be an investigation.

At the moment what have they got? A disease that started in China and spread, they failed to report a novel disease to the CDC despite them being legally required to, they “lost” all the data and information they had on it before the CDC found out about it, the lab in the city it was first found in has pages of safety and contamination violations going back to the day they opened their doors, they demanded and THREATENED that other countries keep their borders open to them because “it’s not transmissible human to human”, oh, and 4 years ago their head of virology at the wuhan institute talked about how easy it IS to make a corona virus more infectious to humans because they’d already done it, and they method they described would result in a virus almost identical to the one we’re suffering from.

Maybe it wasn’t on purpose, but at this point we’ve walked in on them covered in blood and stood over a body, we have a right to investigate to know who is responsible. They won’t do it because for whatever reason they’re scared of the outcome, whether they’re scared because they did it on purpose, by accident or because they fucked up handling the situation so badly the world is still in shambles, they’re scared.

Because IF it can be confirmed that COVID came from a lab in China, that is a HUGE embarrassment to the Communist Party. It's also hella inconvenient for the US and Dr Fauci, who illegally provided funding for the research that most likely led to the virus getting out. Fauci's funding of Gain of Function research is pretty much 99% confirmed at this point. There would be massive trade implications for China, the NGO officials that the Chinese have bought could no longer provide them political cover. Countries who have worked with the Chinese up till now would be forced to change their stances because confirmed proof that it came from a lab would enflame the citizens of each country.

I think they're barely cooperating. They don't want anyone to know what really happened and when the virus first began, they shut down internal travel but left international travel open. Oversight? Doubt it. I think it was just a "If we have it, so should you".
