I can relate to Gabby situation and currently working on a book to honor her story and other women’s story. I advocate against DV against women and there are a lot of monsters out here. Women see these red signs , but some don’t make it when it’s too late. Women should take heed to Gabby’s story and know that love that causes pain and hurt isn’t healthy. Brian is a narcissistic and sadistic that inflicted pain on Gabby. Women who are abused often lose a part of themself and their self esteem is destroyed by these types of monsters.
Did you see this? https://youtu.be/5IbZMcRVSI4
I learned that most women posting those “cute relationship goals” pics and videos are most likely not in good relationships and their cute couple pics are an escape from reality of how they want their actual relationship to be. She sure did paint her relationship to be loving and happy.
I've learned that in general, social media can be very deceiving. People generally only allow you to see what they want you to see.
@aWes0MeNeSs You are correct and that applies with dfferent life fields not only relationships. Take a look at people posting endless selfies on social media, pretending they are all happy, maybe they are maybe they are not. Social media is just an escape probably for many where people may not judge you. Also people posting endless pictures of trips here and there and all the trips they take and like to show off and brag.
I agree with both of you said completely. I just think there’s a lot of fakeness on social media that can’t be trusted, but it’s also sad how those fake situations lead to people being insecure even though there’s nothing to be insecure about. Sometimes I wish my man would take cute pics with me and I’m sure many many women out there wish for the same, but the realism of it is most couples that take those cute photos are really toxic for each other and aren’t even happy together. Reasons why I took a step back from social media. Social media corrupts our minds
@kyleelyn199723 Very true. I've stepped back from it quite a bit as well.
@aWes0MeNeSs Im not dating anyone but i think that is the reason you keep your relationship status away from social media it can backfire at you.

I completely recognise that domestic violence doesn’t discriminate against gender. I know that men sometimes experience domestic violence too.
What I want to say is that you here needs to be w change and it needs to come from us as individuals first and foremost but also from those who are in power. Be it police forces, the government, whatever.
In ONE week, American news has been alarmed with Petito’s week and British news has been consumed by Sabrina Nessa’s murder.
We as woman are at RISK. I don’t want to hear another gender related murder. I’m scared. I’m tired of it. And I resent the government.
This isn’t just about feminism or not all men are trash. This is much more than that. Our lives are at stake. We are afraid to go on about our lives as usual. Petito was trying to make a name for herself and Nessa was on her way to meet a friend on a Friday night. Nothing crazy.
Men need to recognise that we are scared. They need to raise awareness between each other. And the government needs to do something. We need better laws and more measures.
We don't care anymore. Men get abused more often anyways.
@Hallo626262 no no no no no!!! This is a serious problem. This isn't a debate about who gets abused and who's the better off gender. This is about young women being constantly TARGETED, KILLED, receiving NO LEGAL SUPPORT.
I have been followed home myself and I swear I thought it was my last day alive. It's frightening. It's not funny. It's not a debate. It's a SERIOUS crisis.
@alyssa11 no sorry domestic violence is not manly targeted at women.
Never seen a manhunt for a missing man who was not a fugitive
Just pointing out that as bad as society is, They still view women in particular valuable enough to care about their well being and want to help retrieve them if they go missing.
Your General Personal security should not be affected by someone elses domestic violence situation. Its sad, but you can't help people who don't want to be helped
@alyssa11 there is no crysis you dumb little girl.
@cjmtherfcker The mayor of London literally said on live TV that London streets are not safe for women or girls. Imagine how we feel.
@alyssa11 well then maybe he shouldn't sprout this bullshit. Men get aussaulted way more. Women are just crybabies.
@alyssa11 shut up
I learnt how confident liars and domestic abusers can be. I've seen the police footage from when Gabby and Brian got pulled over and he told the police so many obvious lies that weren't looked into. Just from what I can remember from the top of my head, he lied about not having a phone of his own and only using hers, later on in the footage he was using his own phone in front of police, Gabby also told him told him something about his phone charger towards the end.
He said they had a good morning it started off well and later on they started having arguments, when Gabby was questioned she said they had a rough morning, so they were having arguments from the start.
Brian seemed open to talking, answered all questions, seemed relaxed and not very worried. So officers basically took no notice to some details of his story being different to hers or the fact that he blatantly lied about his phone. To them he seemed like an innocent man who was the victim of domestic abuse, when the real victim was in tears taking the blame for it all regardless on what witnesses said. To have someone who can sweet talk and fool officers like that is scary.
@Alyssa11 well it's sad to hear that the streets aren't safe for women anymore...
You can always come here to my cave in the stone ages miss alyssa rapunzel and you will always warm, happy and safe 😁
Saying in one of your comments that you were follow and you were so scared thinking that it was the last day of your life, like i said before, hit them with your magical rapunzel hair 🤣
Now tbh i hate hearing that women doesn't feel safe in public around men because that's awful, a man should always protect a girl and consider her like his sister or wife or mother and the girl should always feel safe around men because a man is there to love a girl, take good care of her and protect, it's sad to hear that a lot of women are scared while they shouldn't be...
I grew up looking at girls who loves to be around me ans always feels happy and safe around me because they know that i'm someone who will never hurt them or make them sad or does something that's not good to them, if i'm bothered i'll just go and tell the person straight to him/her that i'm bothered and explain why and if someone annoys me, i'll just leave and if i was attracted to a girl, i'll go and tell her and let her know my thoughts about her, if she agrees than we can date and of not, than i'll wish her a happy life!
I have nothing to hide, i'm just straight and honest, i don't act like a creep and i don't play mind games...
@anniisa97 desperate about what? 🤔
Well thank you and it’s nice to see that there’s men out there who recognise that this is a problem. Guys can help honestly. I’ve been in situations too where a random guy has stuck up for me and I’ve witnessed it happen to others. It’s such a breath of fresh air.
@anniisa97 it’s sad that as a woman you have to put down a man who is on our side
@Alyssa11 This is your problem- group mentality. "As a woman" I'm free to call out desperation when I see it. I don't owe him anything, just because he wrote a comment about being on "our side". He isn't special or unique for agreeing.
You do realise he wants to be in your good books to talk to you more right? Thats all this is, whether or not he means it. I'm sure he does, but his main goal was to get your attention. What's wrong with that? Nothing, but I knew what he was doing and called him out for it. Watch him deny it now..
@anniisa97 you must be crazy or just jealous from miss alyssa, i don't have time for your hallucinations and idc about what you think about me, i'm happy and i don't need your acknowledgment...
Miss alyssa knows me well enough and that's why she replied like that amd don't think that you can change her mind or the way she see me...
I'm sure enough that i'll never be on your side because your someone toxic!
@alyssa11 thanks for your kind words miss alyssa rapunzel, don't waste your time on such shallow headed people who are jealous and toxic!
Days later (spongebob voice)
@anniisa97 seek some help cause you have some serious mental issues...
Don't waste your time replying on me anymore cause i won't reply back!
Keep living in your dreams and stop sticking your nose in other people's business...
@Alyssa11 @tonymetal___86 Both of you are commenting under MY opinion. If you dont have time for me or want me to to "stop sticking my nose in other peoples business's" then get yourselves out of here. Simple.
This wimp literally lost his mind over so. eone pointing the obvious and he now thinks he can call someone mentally ill, but according to @alyssa11 he's an ally to women lol. You're both a joke. Gtfo of here.
What I've learned... is that the general population is still insufferably stupid. In fact, on this site, almost all of the questions that pop up under "trending and news" are about Gabby Petito. Really? Of all the events happening all over the world right now, THIS is what people are talking about? And why her? Thousands of young women, teenagers and kids disappear, get kidnapped, abused, murdered, abandoned, etc every year yet we're still on this one weeks later. President Trump formed a task force to address this sort of thing happening around Native American land (which I doubt he would've even known about were it not for a movie getting released about it), and nobody said a thing. The Fort Worth Texas police and county sheriff department busted literally hundreds of human traffickers smuggling children over the last couple years, and it barely even made local news. The crap that's going on at the border right now is basically this story multiplied thousand-fold, but the realities get ignored. Domestic violence (and people kidding themselves by staying in those toxic relationships) in general are certainly worth addressing, but obsessing over one single case like it's a season of a crime drama with a literal Dogg the Bounty Hunter cameo is not doing anyone any good.
I learned that Gabby might have been in an abusive relationship, and that she chose the wrong person to go on a trip in a van with a person who may be (or may have been) physically abusive to her. Someone saw him slap her and hit her in broad daylight, it was known in Utah, and the policemen who stopped them on the road after receiving a domestic dispute tip did not know this fact. So they let him go although they separated them for the night.
Laundrie prepared a backpack as per his parents, who seem to be covering for him, and headed out towards the swamps near his home. However, that was 2 weeks after she was reported missing, and I am thinking, what if he had left the state, or the country for that reason? The airports wouldn't be looking for his name then. Mom didn't report her missing until Sept 11, and he came home on Sept 1. That gave =him plenty of time to leave for somewhere.
Women need to think twice about thinking that they know the guy they are with well enough to go anywhere far from home. So sad, a parent's worst nightmare.
PS there are thousands of women from all walks of life that go missing everywhere in the states. Why she had all this publicity is no mystery, but seriously--more attention needs to be made to those other missing women and people, period. Women from Native American tribes especially, and no one knows about it. All around the states there are missing people, some are found, many are not paid much attention to because the police figure they were run aways, and in many cases this is not true.
As a guy, it only validates why girls are super on guard giving her number or going out on dates with guys or men. Society is dysfunctional, this world is a mess, the world is an evil place. But I do believe there is a lot of hope and goodness in the world, it's just that evil has overtaken that. I know some guys who possess toxic jealousy or aggressiveness towards girls and i've distanced myself from those guys. But as a guy, I'm not going to lie I'm annoyed why I try to work on myself for the better and I keep getting rejected. Meanwhile, girls will make awful decisions and awful guys. When I say "awful" I don't mean bad boys alone, I mean guys who lack the right morals or character and toxic between the guy and the girl. I can't stand people who have that (I don't give a fuck) approach in life. It's a very stupid mantra to live by. For the girl, honestly I hope she's in heaven and I hope the guy is caught. I get the feeling the guy will do something heinous to himself or to others if he knows he's about to get caught.
I learned as a women please when you date or engaged or married TELL you family the truth. Tell your mother your father your sister your brother your grandmother anyone you are closed the truth of your relationship don’t hide it. If the guy you are dating ABUSES you always tell your family. Because telling your family can prevent this to happen they can tell you how dangerous it is and stay away from him. Also , be STRONG dare to say NO dare to say Fuck off and LEAVE. Never give someone a chance to walk over you! Why , for what? You came to this world alone and will die alone so never ever let someone take control of YOU.
If something is wrong don’t walk but RUN
Women too too often default to picking horrible toxic partners. Yes. This is the default. I’d given the choice between the part time barista who’s working on an engineering degree and a BDSM tatted up narcissist killer psychopath, the default is the exciting bad boy.
Further, look at some old guy like me. If I’d offers to protect her. Give her a safe place to stay. Provide unconditional support, etc, society would scream that it was gross and insane and beyond toxic and they would come point a gun at my head, probably charge me with all kinds of crimes, and force her to hook up with a twisted BDDM torture porn killer. Literally. Society would insist that happen at gunpoint.
People will blow up any stupid bullshit when the news cycle is slow and attribute it with messages that align with their particular beliefs.
Men are like, "if female domestic violence was taken seriously she'd still be alive!."
Women are like, "if male domestic violence was taken seriously she's still be alive!"
Intersectional retards be like, "if she was black she wouldn't be in the news!"
I'm like "people are murdered every single day, what's so special about this bitch?"
It's utterly tragic, but to me, it simply confirms how social media is just a game of smoke and mirrors.
I've only watched a couple of their video segments - mainly those shown on the news - and they come across as this 'perfect' couple. Yet, now we know this wasn't the case at all.
Word of advice, stop using FaceBook, Instagram, SnapChat et al. Stop. It's not worth it. Instead of taking souvenir pictures with your phone, buy a proper camera, print the pictures, and add them to a book.
Social media is a cesspit of attention-seeking, self-validating fools who live off your desperation to have a 'life' like theirs.
Love is hard. When people fall in love each others, its kinda hard for then to cut off their ties if thing go bad. She might be abused by her fiancé but her love for him might be undying hence the relation. But there also some that I know the reason she stay with her boyfriend is because she afraid what will happen next. Some is because for love. Some might be due to then afraid of what will happen next. My friend manage to end her relationship after getting support from her friends where we all cheer for her breakup (LOL) but in the end she is happy now and even in relation with new guy.
I learned Missing White Woman Syndrome is still alive and well. I still have no reason to understand why I'm supposed to care about this missing person over the thousands of other people missing. Hell Kelly Prices family hasn't heard anything from her for near a month and she's been officially missing for a week and nobody cares
I learned that most people still don't care about domestic violence. In that video I could see that she was nervous, afraid and extremely unhappy.
How come the police didn't notice that she wasn't ok, that she couldn't be with Brian? She was crying for help and no one heard her. Unfortunately there are many "Gabbys" and "Brians" out there...
They clearly realised something was up, and that's why they were told to sleep seperately.
What else are the police mean to do?
Like what?
I did not learn anything new.
What young women should learn are two things.
1. Do not pick the ‘exciting’ bad boy. Young women are the architects of their own misery and destruction.
2. Looks match. Gabby was a pretty girl. The boyfriend was dog ugly, in an untermensch DNA type of way. Gabby could have done much, much better.
No they looked perfectly compatible. She's a butterfacce.
"It had nothing to do with her race at all. People wanna make it that way and it’s not."
You've missed the point of the race (and gender) discussion around the Gabby Petito story. It has literally become international news, and that would never have happened had she not been an attractive white woman. Nor would it have been news if she was a man. Males go missing more than women do, and yet their stories get a fraction of the attention by the public, and thus by law enforcement. It's a horrible story but there there are absolutely absolutely very important racial and gender issues that should be talked about. Women in general, and white women in particular, are very privileged in way they rarely recognize or acknowledge.
Nothing new here, girls following their emotions instead of their brains which eventually leads to tragedy. I don't know why such cases only get covered so rarely.
It seems like they only get covered when there's mystery involved in the story to keep readers hooked, maybe if there was no attention to profit to report such stories, there would be more awareness on domestic violence.
Cause and effect, you give your body and soul to a mentally ill guy, you know nothing good comes out of that.
I've learned that I have too much going on in my life to give a damn about what else happens. I've also learned that for all these murder cases that make TV, thousands more go unsolved and pushed to the backburner. I hate it when a murder case makes the news because that is not right to other victims who lost their lives and are unknown. What makes the lives of those who get their cases on TV more important than those who do not?
That there is clearly more light shone on a missing tik tok star than any other regular human being.
There are hundreds of missing indigenous women and girls. Who’s looking for them?
Yesssss thank you literally a black mom was murdered near me on Mother’s Day the search was complete bs and hidden the family did it. No one really cared and all along it was the husband! The police didn’t even really question him. That’s not on the news though.
Ok, but I am not sure why her case went nationwide in the US. Many women's there have been murdered by their partners or ex. Every year women's are killed by a relative, in the US.
What made her case more visible, could have been her family economical status, the video capture; little before she dissapeared, and, why not, her ethnicity. What if she was latina, Asian or African American?
I care more about the two black people who were gunned down near my city a few days ago, it’s disgusting how the media only cares about young white lives
I mean, nobody burned down billions of dollars of private businesses over her..
@DarkWinterNights this was in Canada at a house party, why do you assume it’s related to riots?
Well, they claimed someone reported her and the boyfriend arguing so the police were called also they got a warrant out for the boyfriend cause he used her bank debit card to withdraw money without consent, not yet for her murder so who knows if they will find him but it seems like he's hiding from the police
Not much. Sounds like dumb blonde chose a bad boy, people tried to get her out of the bad situation but she just kept going back till he killed her. And Im supposed to care more than other missing people because she had a lot of followers on Instagram because she was an attractive female
She should have gotten out of that relationship sooner. Sadly, you never know what that man said to her behind closed doors... did he threaten to kill/hurt her siblings/parents if she spoke out? A restraining order only goes so far. I wound imagine he really toyed with her in order to keep her from going to the authorities.
I'm leaning that people need to move on to a new topic, she its sad that she died. But I'm getting tired of everyone talking about it.. People die all the time, and in worse circumstances and even sadder ones. Why is this case any different..
Pretty sure it's because she is a famous white girl that was missing and then found dead. Yea it's not that she is white it's so be size she had a huge following I guess. I e never heard of her until I was on here.
Nah, there clearly is a lot of coverage because she is a pretty white girl. Remember, pretty white girls are the most privileged and entitled people on the planet.
She's still a human being who's been butchered. She has a family.
What an awful human being you must be. I wonder whether you'd say the same thing if your blonde sister or mother was murdered...
@BruceJender You are missing the point... entirely.
@BruceJender plenty of people go missing everyday and turn out to be butchered, but nobody gives a shit because the victim isn't an attractive young lady.
No reason for people to care about this particular case when there are thousands of missing person cases happening right now.
@Syrian_survivor EXACTLY.
If someone treats you poorly just leave. You are in it for love, caring, understanding. If you are just with somebody for a sense of belonging and self worth you aren't in a relationship for the right reasons.
Hugs = Good
Back Hands = Bad
@t-8900. I agree with you but women play the perpetual victim card saying "it's not that simple"... yeah, actually it is that simple.
Not all of them do. I'm meeting a lot more quality women lately. I mean granted they could lie like anyone else but some of the ladies on gag have been a huge emotional support booster to me in private conversation. I don't think most mean harm they just don't understand men like we do for obvious reasons
That you need to name your kids better in case they end up on the news.
I mean "petit" and "laundry" you knew there was going to be trouble.
That young pretty blonde white girls are literally the most important living beings on the face of the planet. I mean... wow.
Nothing really.
Just that she died.
Is there really anything to learn?
Hug = good
Slap = bad
Well boys we did it, domestic violence is no more
Whenever our women of color get killed in the exact same way, nobody cares. Since she is a white girl tho everyone seem to be caring now because she is white. This is example of white privileged.
It's just a more covered case. The crime is nothing new
I learned that this case is a good example of why every single Americaan aside from Joy Reid is RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACCCCCCCCCCCCCIIIIIIIIIIISSSSSSSSSSSSSSTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!
That black people will never care about innocent people and dismiss someone's death as "missing white girl syndrome" just because she's white absolutely disgusting.
RIP Gabby
Narcissistic evil player boyfriend, but girls want rage addicted bad boys and dump nice guys. Girls will never learn, is the lesson. Girls hate nice family guys, go after head strong, bad boy abusers, con artist losers.. Then complain, blame shift, all guys are trash, end up abused by bad boys through out lifetime, baggage, bitter memories of abuse in old age.. Girls love bad boy losers.. And these losers know it... sad.. sad... sad.. rip...
You just generalized all females which is false because they are not all how you think they are.
That she was almost arrested for DV and that her boyfriend almost certainly killed her and it's probably going to use her violent behavior as an excuse for murder.
I had violent exes, I never even thought of killing them.
@anylolone. No, but you thought of smacking the shit out of them.
@KrakenAttackin Nope. Self defense only requires that you stay safe, not necessarily violence, and violence can in some situations make things more dangerous.
Even when I fight, a go for crippling moves, not overwhelming force.
But whenever an ex hit me, I always was just a battered boyfriend.
That men are also victims of domestic violence and most American's I would never want on my jury as they make up their mind about someone being guilty even BEFORE there is any hard evidence.
NOTHING BUT THAT THE WORD OF GOD COMES TO PASS
https://www.youtube.com/embed/YiCEoR5fUDsFOR SOCIETY HAS FORGOTTEN THE KING
AND THAT HIS WORD WILL NOT RETURN VOID
I can almost guarantee that any day I turn on the news someone was killed. If it wasn't for this sight I would not have known about this.
Most domestic violence is initiated by females. She likely abused him first, he got triggered, went to far, and had to kill her. or leave her as her own witness and go to jail.
@kitty71 it's not a men's issue. Dv is equally split
@rosemilk so she couldnt get back at hin
that everything you see on social media is not real and not every relationship is perfect. looking at her instagram, it seems like they had it good. but what happened is just terrifying...
To make sure you know the person well enough before committing to them.
That some men will always find a way to blame the woman
She didn’t deserve to die, but why can’t we point out how toxic both of them were?
@DarkWinterNights there is no set stone proof that she was toxic to him. I think she was more so toxic to herself. Pretending her and her man’s relationship was healthy and lying to her internet followers and family
Damn it’s almost as if I’ve been feeling bad for her and her family, but I’m a man. So fuck me I guess?
@WhiplashMonkey I said some men. If the shoe doesn’t fit then no reason get defensive.
Nothing other than the details of the whole situation.
If you're a woman, always carry a handgun, know how to use it, be sure you can use it when the situation arises.
Its nothing new unfortunately and race eh I’m not going to get into it because it’s not worth it on here go read some stats. There’s books on it as well.
Maybe the person that killed her is after him but it does look like he may be involved he could have somebody like this after him.
https://youtu. be/C-iQldPiH64
I haven't followed the case. I know its mainstream, and what happened to her is horrible. But it's just not an issue for me. It's something tragic that happened to someone I don't know.
There isn't enough light shined on women's domestic violence toward men. The first time that police had contact with the Patito she was deemed the aggressor not the victim
No she was no deemed the aggressor. The person that originally called said Brian was hitting her. They both did not get arrested that day because there is no set and stone proof of who was the aggressor. I will believe an actual witness before I believe police. Not the first time police got a domestic violence case wrong
Not***
The case isn't over yet, so it's tough to have learned anything just yet.
Nothing. Whar we have are allegations, tidbits of information and that's all.
I am not drawing conclusions until tgere is gard evidence.
It can take a long long time to be able to trust someone! If you get red flags from someone, it's a warning! Stay safe is more than just for covid!
That laura Ingraham and other fox news contributors agree. That popularity of this is a case of missing white women syndrome.
I didn’t learn anything other than people need to stop jumping to conclusions. Everyone’s quick to assume without thinking throughly
I learned from the Gabby Petito case that there are rotten people who have zero qualms about killing their lovers.
All i hear is they can't not find the guy. He used someone's card at Walmart they charged him for forgery but when they fined him he be charged with murder up north
I didn't learn anything. It will all come out in court.
Wait, how are people making this about race? I hadn't heard that. Wasn't her dude a white guy too?
@WowwGirl Had you heard this angle?
@WowwGirl Probably just bs then.
Choices were made, people suffered, nothing can undo it, time marches on.
What are people saying about her race? Aren't she and her boyfriend the same race?
@gag2021 Obvi that you dont live in the USA because the Left has made that the absolute number one issue in an effort to divide the country
