I can relate to Gabby situation and currently working on a book to honor her story and other women’s story. I advocate against DV against women and there are a lot of monsters out here. Women see these red signs , but some don’t make it when it’s too late. Women should take heed to Gabby’s story and know that love that causes pain and hurt isn’t healthy. Brian is a narcissistic and sadistic that inflicted pain on Gabby. Women who are abused often lose a part of themself and their self esteem is destroyed by these types of monsters.

I learned that most women posting those “cute relationship goals” pics and videos are most likely not in good relationships and their cute couple pics are an escape from reality of how they want their actual relationship to be. She sure did paint her relationship to be loving and happy.

I completely recognise that domestic violence doesn’t discriminate against gender. I know that men sometimes experience domestic violence too.
What I want to say is that you here needs to be w change and it needs to come from us as individuals first and foremost but also from those who are in power. Be it police forces, the government, whatever.
In ONE week, American news has been alarmed with Petito’s week and British news has been consumed by Sabrina Nessa’s murder.
We as woman are at RISK. I don’t want to hear another gender related murder. I’m scared. I’m tired of it. And I resent the government.
This isn’t just about feminism or not all men are trash. This is much more than that. Our lives are at stake. We are afraid to go on about our lives as usual. Petito was trying to make a name for herself and Nessa was on her way to meet a friend on a Friday night. Nothing crazy.
Men need to recognise that we are scared. They need to raise awareness between each other. And the government needs to do something. We need better laws and more measures.I learnt how confident liars and domestic abusers can be. I've seen the police footage from when Gabby and Brian got pulled over and he told the police so many obvious lies that weren't looked into. Just from what I can remember from the top of my head, he lied about not having a phone of his own and only using hers, later on in the footage he was using his own phone in front of police, Gabby also told him told him something about his phone charger towards the end.
He said they had a good morning it started off well and later on they started having arguments, when Gabby was questioned she said they had a rough morning, so they were having arguments from the start.
Brian seemed open to talking, answered all questions, seemed relaxed and not very worried. So officers basically took no notice to some details of his story being different to hers or the fact that he blatantly lied about his phone. To them he seemed like an innocent man who was the victim of domestic abuse, when the real victim was in tears taking the blame for it all regardless on what witnesses said. To have someone who can sweet talk and fool officers like that is scary. What I've learned... is that the general population is still insufferably stupid. In fact, on this site, almost all of the questions that pop up under "trending and news" are about Gabby Petito. Really? Of all the events happening all over the world right now, THIS is what people are talking about? And why her? Thousands of young women, teenagers and kids disappear, get kidnapped, abused, murdered, abandoned, etc every year yet we're still on this one weeks later. President Trump formed a task force to address this sort of thing happening around Native American land (which I doubt he would've even known about were it not for a movie getting released about it), and nobody said a thing. The Fort Worth Texas police and county sheriff department busted literally hundreds of human traffickers smuggling children over the last couple years, and it barely even made local news. The crap that's going on at the border right now is basically this story multiplied thousand-fold, but the realities get ignored. Domestic violence (and people kidding themselves by staying in those toxic relationships) in general are certainly worth addressing, but obsessing over one single case like it's a season of a crime drama with a literal Dogg the Bounty Hunter cameo is not doing anyone any good.
I learned that Gabby might have been in an abusive relationship, and that she chose the wrong person to go on a trip in a van with a person who may be (or may have been) physically abusive to her. Someone saw him slap her and hit her in broad daylight, it was known in Utah, and the policemen who stopped them on the road after receiving a domestic dispute tip did not know this fact. So they let him go although they separated them for the night.
Laundrie prepared a backpack as per his parents, who seem to be covering for him, and headed out towards the swamps near his home. However, that was 2 weeks after she was reported missing, and I am thinking, what if he had left the state, or the country for that reason? The airports wouldn't be looking for his name then. Mom didn't report her missing until Sept 11, and he came home on Sept 1. That gave =him plenty of time to leave for somewhere.
Women need to think twice about thinking that they know the guy they are with well enough to go anywhere far from home. So sad, a parent's worst nightmare.
PS there are thousands of women from all walks of life that go missing everywhere in the states. Why she had all this publicity is no mystery, but seriously--more attention needs to be made to those other missing women and people, period. Women from Native American tribes especially, and no one knows about it. All around the states there are missing people, some are found, many are not paid much attention to because the police figure they were run aways, and in many cases this is not true.As a guy, it only validates why girls are super on guard giving her number or going out on dates with guys or men. Society is dysfunctional, this world is a mess, the world is an evil place. But I do believe there is a lot of hope and goodness in the world, it's just that evil has overtaken that. I know some guys who possess toxic jealousy or aggressiveness towards girls and i've distanced myself from those guys. But as a guy, I'm not going to lie I'm annoyed why I try to work on myself for the better and I keep getting rejected. Meanwhile, girls will make awful decisions and awful guys. When I say "awful" I don't mean bad boys alone, I mean guys who lack the right morals or character and toxic between the guy and the girl. I can't stand people who have that (I don't give a fuck) approach in life. It's a very stupid mantra to live by. For the girl, honestly I hope she's in heaven and I hope the guy is caught. I get the feeling the guy will do something heinous to himself or to others if he knows he's about to get caught.
I learned as a women please when you date or engaged or married TELL you family the truth. Tell your mother your father your sister your brother your grandmother anyone you are closed the truth of your relationship don’t hide it. If the guy you are dating ABUSES you always tell your family. Because telling your family can prevent this to happen they can tell you how dangerous it is and stay away from him. Also , be STRONG dare to say NO dare to say Fuck off and LEAVE. Never give someone a chance to walk over you! Why , for what? You came to this world alone and will die alone so never ever let someone take control of YOU.
If something is wrong don’t walk but RUNWomen too too often default to picking horrible toxic partners. Yes. This is the default. I’d given the choice between the part time barista who’s working on an engineering degree and a BDSM tatted up narcissist killer psychopath, the default is the exciting bad boy.
Further, look at some old guy like me. If I’d offers to protect her. Give her a safe place to stay. Provide unconditional support, etc, society would scream that it was gross and insane and beyond toxic and they would come point a gun at my head, probably charge me with all kinds of crimes, and force her to hook up with a twisted BDDM torture porn killer. Literally. Society would insist that happen at gunpoint.People will blow up any stupid bullshit when the news cycle is slow and attribute it with messages that align with their particular beliefs.
Men are like, "if female domestic violence was taken seriously she'd still be alive!."
Women are like, "if male domestic violence was taken seriously she's still be alive!"
Intersectional retards be like, "if she was black she wouldn't be in the news!"
I'm like "people are murdered every single day, what's so special about this bitch?"It's utterly tragic, but to me, it simply confirms how social media is just a game of smoke and mirrors.
I've only watched a couple of their video segments - mainly those shown on the news - and they come across as this 'perfect' couple. Yet, now we know this wasn't the case at all.
Word of advice, stop using FaceBook, Instagram, SnapChat et al. Stop. It's not worth it. Instead of taking souvenir pictures with your phone, buy a proper camera, print the pictures, and add them to a book.
Social media is a cesspit of attention-seeking, self-validating fools who live off your desperation to have a 'life' like theirs.Love is hard. When people fall in love each others, its kinda hard for then to cut off their ties if thing go bad. She might be abused by her fiancé but her love for him might be undying hence the relation. But there also some that I know the reason she stay with her boyfriend is because she afraid what will happen next. Some is because for love. Some might be due to then afraid of what will happen next. My friend manage to end her relationship after getting support from her friends where we all cheer for her breakup (LOL) but in the end she is happy now and even in relation with new guy.
I learned Missing White Woman Syndrome is still alive and well. I still have no reason to understand why I'm supposed to care about this missing person over the thousands of other people missing. Hell Kelly Prices family hasn't heard anything from her for near a month and she's been officially missing for a week and nobody cares

I learned that most people still don't care about domestic violence. In that video I could see that she was nervous, afraid and extremely unhappy.
How come the police didn't notice that she wasn't ok, that she couldn't be with Brian? She was crying for help and no one heard her. Unfortunately there are many "Gabbys" and "Brians" out there... I did not learn anything new.
What young women should learn are two things.
1. Do not pick the ‘exciting’ bad boy. Young women are the architects of their own misery and destruction.
2. Looks match. Gabby was a pretty girl. The boyfriend was dog ugly, in an untermensch DNA type of way. Gabby could have done much, much better."It had nothing to do with her race at all. People wanna make it that way and it’s not."
You've missed the point of the race (and gender) discussion around the Gabby Petito story. It has literally become international news, and that would never have happened had she not been an attractive white woman. Nor would it have been news if she was a man. Males go missing more than women do, and yet their stories get a fraction of the attention by the public, and thus by law enforcement. It's a horrible story but there there are absolutely absolutely very important racial and gender issues that should be talked about. Women in general, and white women in particular, are very privileged in way they rarely recognize or acknowledge.Nothing new here, girls following their emotions instead of their brains which eventually leads to tragedy. I don't know why such cases only get covered so rarely.
It seems like they only get covered when there's mystery involved in the story to keep readers hooked, maybe if there was no attention to profit to report such stories, there would be more awareness on domestic violence.
Cause and effect, you give your body and soul to a mentally ill guy, you know nothing good comes out of that.I've learned that I have too much going on in my life to give a damn about what else happens. I've also learned that for all these murder cases that make TV, thousands more go unsolved and pushed to the backburner. I hate it when a murder case makes the news because that is not right to other victims who lost their lives and are unknown. What makes the lives of those who get their cases on TV more important than those who do not?
Ok, but I am not sure why her case went nationwide in the US. Many women's there have been murdered by their partners or ex. Every year women's are killed by a relative, in the US.
What made her case more visible, could have been her family economical status, the video capture; little before she dissapeared, and, why not, her ethnicity. What if she was latina, Asian or African American? That there is clearly more light shone on a missing tik tok star than any other regular human being.
There are hundreds of missing indigenous women and girls. Who’s looking for them?I care more about the two black people who were gunned down near my city a few days ago, it’s disgusting how the media only cares about young white lives
