Why did Shelley Ross have to “metoo” Chris Cuomo?

Chris Cuomo’s old boss/colleague Shelly Ross at ABC came out with really stupid and unnecessary #metoo bs allegation against the former CNN anchor (he’s officially terminated now)

This is what happened:

1) Way back in 2005 he once grabbed her butt (nothing else) at a company gathering. It was an isolated incident.

2. He owned up to and immediately apologized to her back then.

3. In the wake of the (more serious) allegations about him trying to cover for her former governor Andrew Cuomo brother she decided to “go public” about the incident.

Alright he grabbed her butt back then. Definitely not okay. Very douchy and creepy. But he also owned up to it and apologized to her at the time. It was 16 long ass year ago. He did nothing else. This would been a different story if he grabbed her lady parts or something worse. But it sounds like he just made a really stupid decision back then.

Explain to me how that is “metoo” worthy? I hate the Cuomo brothers by the way and I am glad they both got canned. But still that so called “allegation” just reeked of attention seeking, condescending metoo bs. He would of likely got fired anyway. But why did she have to do that?

I’m guessing the ladder cause this is something that’s literally just been brought to light a few hours ago and apparently you already not only know it’s “bullsshit” but downplay sexual assault. There are no levels to sexual assault, sexual assault is bad and shouldn’t happen period and it’s tells me a lot about your character if you’re so quick to defend and alleged sexual harasser without first waiting for all the information.


He’s sexually harassed multiple women in the past. He’s a pretty shit person, that’s a fact.

It's being unearthed as an excuse to get rid of him, presumably because he wouldn't just quit on his own otherwise. The "suspended indefinitely" story was a bit weird because normally using company assets to benefit family members for political or legal gains would be grounds for immediate termination on the spot, but CNN probably wanted to take a more tempered approach and turn it into a "look at us, we believe all women!" pseudo-victory.
