Quite literally, the jury is still out on this case. Until the jury renders a verdict in this CIVIL case involving defamation, no judgment is rendered nor should be. So, anyone answering A or B is not very cognizant of the law and would make a shitty citizen, let alone, a juror.

Domestic violence is a CRIMINAL offense.
Criminal offenses involve anything from fines to prison time.
Criminal cases have titles like "New York v. Smith" which, in this case, the State of New York is PROSECUTING the DEFENDANT aka "The Accused", Smith. If the jury finds Smith guilty, then New York wins and Smith is convicted, is no longer a defendant, but becomes a convict if there is jail time. The sentence - the penalty that the convicted must serve/pay/do - occurs after the trial.

In CIVIL cases, like ones involving defamation, the process is different.
Civil cases have names like "Jones v. Smith". In this particular case, Jones is the PLAINTIFF. Jones is suing Smith claiming that Smith wrongfully did something that brought harm to Jones, so Jones is taking Smith to court seeking a "prayer for relief" meaning that Jones wants Smith to pay Jones for the harm that Smith did to Jones. Meanwhile, Smith is the RESPONDENT. In this case, if "the Court finds for the Plaintiff", then Smith loses and Jones wins, but the Court may not give Jones everything that Jones wanted... or might even give Jones more depending on the situation. The judge needs to make a determination for what is equitable justice in the case. However, Smith is not The Accused... Smith will not be sentenced or due prison time or pay any fines.

Put another way:

In CRIMINAL CASES:

The government ("The people") is asserting that a person has committed a crime: they are asserting that the accused has violated a law (which, in an abstract sense, harms society).

Anyway, the confrontation is between the government and a person.

In CIVIL CASES:

One person or group, the Plaintiff, is asserting ("complaining") that another person or group has harmed them in some way.

But, unlike in criminal cases, in civil cases, the confrontation is between two groups of people ("parties"). The government does not feel that "the people" have been harmed nor any laws have been broken. Instead, via the court system, the government is mediating the dispute between the parties.

So, bottom line: Neither Amber Heard nor Johnny Depp will be "sentenced" for defamation because their dispute is a civil matter and not a criminal one.

As for domestic violence, that is up to the discretion of local district attorney's office where that violence allegedly occurred. If they have insufficient evidence to get a conviction - or even enough to persuade a grand jury to allow them to go to trial - then they will not prosecute.

Just so you know what he was dealing with, he got called into a meeting, and it turns out that his financial managers had stolen his entire $650M fortune, AND left him with a $100M tax debt. As you might imagine, the meeting ran long.

Because he was late coming home, Amber got mad and literally pooped on his side of the bed. Because everything is ALWAYS about HER. She and her friends fabricated evidence, staged photos, had to be dragged into court 5 times before they finally delivered court-ordered discovery evidence (and still didn't deliver many of them by trial), and has admitted in audio recordings that she hit Johnny, on several occasions, and would scream and make hit and threaten when he tried to walk away.

Her and her friends told stories that were very different from Johnny's stories, and then it was finally admitted that there was police body cam footage. That footage matches up with Johnny's story and directly conflicts with Amber's. It goes on and on like that.

Of course, she should be in jail. She is a bad person. However, did not he know what kind of person she is? I mean you propably will hear something about a person before dating them. Amper has been celebrity for so long time, dated so many guys etc and in such celebrity circles you would know something about her before dating her. Women also get accused of dating bad boys for having bad experiences with men, so why should not blame him for dating a b** on purpose but regret it

I always notice that a guy may be a fboy/badboy when talking to them and i dont need years to know that someone may be a bad person. People usually expose their personality/mentality in a short time.

I can't feel bad anymore for anyone for having shit relationship experiences because it is most of time their own fault for ignoring the red flags or leaving the person as soon as the person does something bad. Johny should have left her after seeing the first red flag. This all does not justify abuse etc of course. I am just saying that you should be very careful and wise when dating to avoid possible danger

The current case is for defamation, but it’s weird that she hasn’t been hit with domestic violence yet. Maybe it’s because there’s not beyond a reasonable doubt evidence and Johnny’s own poor (albeit not violent against amber) conduct makes him look too bad. Can’t wait to see them tear down amber on cross examination.

I would say no, if I didn't feel deep down in my sole that men are persecuted all the time, by public opinion. Even when they are not arrested or are some how vindicated legally they are not rewarded or protected from abuse and damage women cause to their reputation. I really hate to see the courts get involved in these things, but the truth is that people can literally say what ever they want about other people, and the bar for defamation is impossible high to prove. Too many people hid behind their freedom of speech to almost say anything in the hopes of destroying someone without any legal liability to themselves.

I used to have a hugeeeee crush on amber heard back in the day. But what she did to Johnny Depp, I lost my respect for her. That story between Depp and Heard when it first broke out I thought she would be let go and not even get a slap on the wrist.

If she is found guilty in court the a sentence is a given, but it will come down to the judge what the sentence will be, I have feeling that Depp would be satisfied if she was found guilty for the DV, but he only received a nominal amount in damages for the defamation as Heard would have still been found guilty of it, and both guilty verdicts found.
