You do realize anime is not exactly popular, right? Anime fans are still slandered as obese, smelly, friendless, neckbeard virgins, which, unfortunately, is true for the vast majority of true anime fans (though I am in the extreme minority who isn't obese, smelly, or neckbeard).
There are posers (especially among attractive women) who claim to enjoy anime, but really, are only there to profit big off of male loneliness via OnlyFans, Fansly, Fanhouse, etc. Unfortunately, all attractive women who claim to enjoy anime are in fact the aforementioned posers and liars. If anime wasn't extremely profitable, they would have been spitting on the faces of all anime fans, constantly mocking them, and publicly humiliating them.
In short, the vast majority of people (which includes all attractive women) still despise anime and its fans, which is why anime is nowhere near as popular as it seems.
@Pink2000 I agree. Anime is overrated in my opinion and I don't really understand the hype. The one anime I really like is The Promised Neverland but other than that I'm not a fan of anime in general.
@VRCXZ I don't despise anime fans. I'm just not into the same genre as they are. I'm more into sci-fi and mysteries just to name a few.

Lol there's no need to be harsh just because you dont enjoy it. Netflix alone reported over 100million households worldwide streamed at least one anime in the first 9 months of 2020
Not sure where you're from, but america it's less than 18% of the population that watches anime, so maybe that's what gives you that impression
@tony_baloney I'm not in "America", so no, you can't use that silly argument with me. I know precisely no one (zero people) who like anime. I seriously doubt if any of those people even know what it is. It seems to be something that only "Americans" enjoy.

I'm not sure what you mean. Subjective interests are just that. It's not surprising that people have a varied set of interests that dont always overlap with others. I can completely understand why someone wouldn't like anime.

@DizzyDesii I still use a flip phone. No texting either, I only have the regular voice calls and they can leave a voice message if I don't answer. My phone was $45 when it was new and is only $15 per month. It works for what I need it for though. :)
Nah i still need a pretty lookin smart phone but i just say fck the smart features 😂 And my phone bill is only $48 a month because i paid for the phone outright lol
