Kari Lake, the Republican nominee for Arizona governor, called late Arizona Sen. John McCain — who was also a Republican — a "loser" this week, echoing remarks allegedly made by former President Donald Trump. During a recent campaign event — footage of which was shared to Twitter — Lake asked the crowd, "We don't have any McCain Republicans in here, do we?" eliciting boos from her supporters. "Okay, if you [are], get the hell out," she added with a laugh. Elsewhere at the event, Lake again noted that the Republican party was "the party of McCain," sneering her face before saying, "I know. Boy, Arizona has delivered some losers, haven't they?"

She is a bit vapid and all about herself. We who lived in New York's "Capital Region" (Albany, Troy, Schenectady) could see that right away.

She was hired by the local NBC affiliate, WNYT-13, in August 1998 to replace Chris Kapostasy (now known as Chris Jansing) who was enticed by NBC executives to come to work for the network. Chris left in June 1998 but was in the Capital Region and with WNYT for about 17 years. She was extremely popular and genuine and had a segment called "Monday's Child" in which she would interact with a child up for adoption or in need of a Big Brother/Big Sister.

Once Kari Lake arrived, while very attractive, she had the warmth of an ice water enema. No one cared for her there. And she said she liked living in the Capital District, but she didn't. 15 months later, she left to go home to Arizona. Good riddance, I felt.

I doubt anybody booed her for saying she hated John McCain. I actually voted that I'm glad she lost, but I'm super glad she beat the America First candidate the first time around.

It’s sad. I’m definitely gonna be keeping an eye on the political climate in Arizona to see how things play out.

I guess the only good thing about this is women will keep their reproductive rights but everything else is gonna go to shit honestly. I say this as a life long Californian

Last I checked Lake was only down 19,000 with 51,000 still uncounted. She only needs two thirds of those to win. Not impossible considering Arizona counts the day of voting last. I checked about an hour after everyone started saying Hobbs won. Since nobody was including the vote count in the projection.

I just saw Kari Lake on TV an hour ago and it has not been settled yet. This must have just happened. I cannot imagine that Hobbs as secratary of state can legally declare herself as the winner without raising a lot of questions.
