She was one of the first female anchors. The first one to have an Evening News broadcast in 1976 on ABC News. She was the first female coanchor of the Today show in the 1970s. However, she was also known for candid and controversial interviews with people like Dolly Parton and Michael Jackson.

I don’t like her: Two sexually molested brothers murdered their abusive father and were sentenced to 50 years in prison and Barbara kept going out of her way to make them look like disgusting monsters instead of admitting, they were jailed because the prosecution convinced the judge to hide critical evidence from the jury during the trial that would have proven they were actually molested and had legitimate grounds for staging a defensive counter strike against their patriarch. The prosecution said they were money hungry liars who wanted an early inheritance from their dad and since the judge hid evidence, the jury believed it.

I can't say that I have. But I am sad she passed away. No matter what people say about her interviews and the controversy around her life. She was a role model for a lot of different women. I think the only real interview I ever watched was her interview with Dolly Parton. I always felt, she away with being condescending towards other women like Katherine Hepburn and Dolly. But that aside. . . it is hard to deny that almost every single current major female correspondent was in some way inspired by her.
