Do y’all not regularly think about the roman empire?

I saw the roman empire trend on TT and i was like “yeah, everyone does”. but then i saw more women thinking it was weird that their dads or bfs or dude friends thought about the roman empire a lot. which i thought was weird cuz i think about the roman empire very often. not daily, but at least like 5 times a week. Is that not normal? cuz i thought that women did that too, considering i am one. I don't know it’s just like the weather, i think about the weather a lot, i think about the roman empire just as often. same goes for ancient greece but that’s diff.

I've read a lot about it in my life, but I don't think about it all that often.

Coincidentally, though, I happen to be reading The History of Gaul right now. It reminds me what rotten, sadistic, genocidal bastard Julius Caesar was. And he did it all for personal power and aggrandizement.

I actually don't have much admiration for the Roman empire.

No it's gone and done with. Sure there's echoes in the landscape, language etc but I think its bollocks that guys are all misty eyed for the good old days

oh. pretty iffy. some times it was like “oh no you cannot go anywhere bad bad” and sometimes it was like. “yeah lmao, don’t leave the house without dude supervision but other than that you’re chill.” depended on the ruler but it was never really good. except noble families daughter’s would sometimes become these things called vestal virgins who would guard the sacred hearth and flame and they could do whatever except have relations with men until their 20 years of services were up. then they could but they lost their rights again. also if they lost their virginity they would be buried alive. but there were a lot of inequality problems and stuff. why?

because the roman empire was quite interesting and much of it’s culture still spills into modern day stuff. heck, the planets are named after roman gods. also gladiators lmao
