OK, apparently it was a thing before 1973, but anyone old enough to have bought one back then is pushing 70 today.

The new law refers to bottles and is just about appeasing brexiteers who are determined to drag us back to the 18th century.

Don't forget you've always been able to by glasses of wine by the pint here Is it ok to drink red wine by the pint or only white?

Which is why when a guy asks if you want a drink we all say "I'll have a pint of wine"

I seem to remember empty pints of port wine discarded on the streets of the city. Why don't they sell wine by the pint anymore?

I think because it's almost the same as half a litre, and it's easier to have fewer standard measures. Beer and cider have been sold by the pint throughout, much to the disappointment of George Orwell fans. (Clocks don't strike 13, either.)

Of course we have ice, but there must be something wrong with yours because it only starts melting at 32 degrees, and that's a hot day!
