I live in the Southern California which is literally the target zone for the recent storms. We are having a tremendous amount of rain but no hurricane as yet. Also no tornadoes as yet. However, we aren't out of the woods with us yet and I would not be surprised if we start having some water spouts.

I've done a lot of sailing in the Pacific Ocean and I can tell you that the name is not all it's cracked up to be. I've almost died out there because of the weather, and more than once.

There have been hurricanes in California before. They are relatively few as compared to the east coast but certainly not unheard of.
