Another mass shooting in Arkansas. When do we start taking firearms out of the public?

Ultimately, I believe in a prison system where the inmates are forced to perform labor to cover the cost of the incarceration. This was the initial conception of our jail system.

By doing so, you create a system whereby the law-breakers don't rest on the backs of taxpayers. It also creates a great deterrent against breaking the law.

Allow Congress to pass laws removing certain guns from public ownership. If you're caught with one, you're incarcerated for a long enough, mandatory amount of time

Here is the solution we all need, national firearms restrictions and regulations including a special license, a DMV-like system, less gun stores at every corner of the US only permitted stores with a special permit not some Walmart or Cabela’s or whatever unless they have a permit per individual store.
Each store with a permit should be then required to deliver a mental health examination to continue since this should be a law too: Gun stores held civilly accountable for deaths caused by a shooter’s purchase at that particular store for failing to stop a mental health complicated individual, etc.
I don't know if you knew this most of the shootings in a place like Chicago, the weaponry was bought from the same gun store in Indiana (outside the state of Illinois) since Indiana is less restrictive on guns, we need National Restrictions for this reason.

@MrShaun It has to be a lot or else we will keep having these issues while also maintaining those rights to own / purchase a gun for defense.
Another thing to take into consideration is the purchases of guns used in majority of mass shootings, those guns aren’t being purchased by first time buyers anymore, it is collectors / gun enthusiasts so, we could just cut off new purchases and no one should be upset (except handguns / less powerful weapons) I do think we can have all guns allowed if we have a DMV license, training, mental health test system where all parties are happy.

In case you have been living somewhere where there is no news, I have bad news for you. The Supreme Court, in its growing stupidity and pandering to the right, has struck down a law making bump stocks illegal. Bump stocks rely on the recoil to immediately fire again, thus turning the rifle into a machine gun. Going to be many more mass shootings with much loss of life. Congress prevented Obama from nominating smart justices and allowed Trump to appoint insane people to the Supreme Court.

When you can explain how that will stop people from killing people instead of HOW people will kill people (as only one of many obstacles that stance needs to overcome).

For example, how many lives did gun control save in the 2016 Nice France Truck Massacre, which resulted in 86 deaths and 434 injured?

This resulted in WAY more death an injury (exponentially so) than your average mass shooting.

At this risk of being highly offensive, someone could even argue that there likely would have been less death and injury if he used a gun, and that Frances gun laws may have even resulted in more death and injury.

A gun without a bullet is useless so why are we going after guns when we should be going after bullets? Someone shoots everyone wants to ban guns. Someone gets stabbed do they ban knives of course not. People get in car accidents all the time do we ban cars I don’t think so. You take guns out of the public criminals still have them.

Never. You don't take away basic human rights because some people are bad. It makes me support these kinds of rights even more tbh. Propose an amendment to repeal the 2nd, or stop illegally chipping away at people's rights.

Firearms will take you out of public, before you will take them out of public. If it's something you're willing to die for, have at it, but guns will still be around after you're gone.

a guy who doesn't care about "don't murder" will get a gun despite any law.

1. Criminals dont care about gun laws.

2. Obtaining an illegal firearm is easy.

3. you dont need a gun to kill a bunch of people.

Taking guns away from law abiding citizens will solve nothing.
