hey, im in east sussex, uk and we have been blessed with such sights a few times this year... i had always planned to go to a country reknowned for their presence and then my well travelled cousin told me its only the awesome spectrum of colours through a lense through our eyes its very different... but i watched them from my back garden recently with my two children grown, and appreciated it could be a once in a lifetime moment...
Agreed, same thing I said to @WindAtMyBack ๐
Didn't know about it. I'll look it up. A lot of people saw the last big one, including a lot near me. I spent a few hours staring at the sky on multiple nights and didn't see a thing. Seeing it is really high on my bucket list.
Yeah it's a let down with the naked eye. I've only seen it once and you don't get the colors you see in pictures. So I was wondering if you could see them better using a camera phone. Thought I'd give that a try.
I have heard of people getting a good picture with a phone that they couldn't see with their eyes. I assume the sensor on the phone is more sensitive to those wavelengths.
