Joe Biden is signing into law a bill designating the Bald Eagle as the U. S. National bird.

For him, it should have been a Dodo.
I thought the bald eagle was already America's bird.
But I guess I was wrong...
Why it took 248 years for the bald eagle to become America's bird
@AviatorTom
I thought so too 🤷🏼♀️
1 for 1460 is a horrible batting average. 🙄
Again you are forgetting the CHIPS and Science Act, the Safer Communities Act, the Infrastructure Act and everything else but that's to be expected.
@AviatorTom I was going to leave an "opinion" saying that Benjamin Franklin wanted to name the turkey out national bird but I saw it was mentioned in your link. I remember learning that in middle school and always thought it was funny.
@DryGermanGuy so far the CHIPS act has not created a single job
@exitseven @DryGermanGuy The CEO of Intel recently pointed out that Intel has received none of the billions promised to it in the CHIPS act.
But you would agree that the Biden administration is going out with a pretty impressive job plus of 15, xx million, so everything potentially coming on top only makes their record better, right?
@DryGermanGuy No, I don't agree at all. The majority of jobs "created" during the Biden administration tried to replace the jobs lost during the pandemic, and most of these jobs are lower-paying jobs. Plus, cost of goods and services is about about 20% higher (more for some items) since Biden took office in 2021. Historians will look on Biden's presidency as average at best.
According to the FED labor statistics, around 5-6 million jobs were lost during the pandemic. So during the Biden administration all that was reversed and another 10 million added. The inflation also came down from 9. x% to 2. x% during the same time, when other Western countries were struggling more. From what I have read, due to Biden's extensive bipartisan legislation, historians already rank him in the upper third.
@DryGermanGuy Just curious. What do you plan on doing in February's snap election?
Probably nothing, because the outcome was already clear even before the election announcement: The Christian Democrats will win the election and will either form a grand coalition with the current Social Democrats or - less likely - the Green Party. The only question is, how strong the voters want the CDU's coalition partner to become?
@DryGermanGuy The majority of the jobs were just the jobs lost during covid coming back. A good amount were government jobs and a lot are part time jobs with no benefits. Taken in total it was a net loss.
Again you have these weird troubles with algebra or is it selective perception? 5-6 million jobs re-gained out of a total 15, xx million jobs gained is not a majority.

Says a lot about American intelligence. tbh.
Next he can make America a proper democracy, make Spanish it's official language, and make not paying a proper wage, a criminal offence.
At least he did something right before he left office
0 That's really weird. I thought the bald eagle was already the US national bird
Somebody's been lying my whole life then.
