He came into the office after that of President Ford. He helped broker the peace treaty between Egypt and Israel. He was likely most remembered for his handling of the Iranian hostage crisis. Looking back on it, he handled it properly, in that he allowed time and the outcry from around the globe to free the hostages.

He was even better known for his humanitarian outreach after his presidency. He became a great example of a human being.

I remember him well. The media lauded him for carrying his own bags to Air Force One, but it was political theater. He only did it when cameras were watching him. He was as antisemitic as Obama. He was the worst president in my lifetime until Biden came along.

On the upside, he helped build houses for the poor and reminded me of the days when Democrat presidents weren't trying to destroy the country, at least not intentionally.

Talk about whitewashing history. Before Biden he was known as the most ineffective president in U. S. history. The "peace" treaty he brokered resulted in the murder of Anwar Sadat, and later, Yitzhak Rabin. He mishandled the Iranian hostage crisis, Reagan fixed it and got the hostages released. All of Carter's good works came in public service after he was president.

Camp David Accords were horribly tilted against israel.

Carter was rotten.

The israelis felt betrayed by that guy begin and later sharon for similar betrayal.

His (good) example delayed the disgust for the U. S. (as an entity) that I developed later.
