In a "government shutdown" only "essential workers" keep working. So why not just let the government shut down and fire all the NON-essential workers?

Every time they threaten to have a "government shutdown," over the budget they say that during the "shutdown" only "essential workers" will be working.

Huh?

What I want to know is why the hell are we the taxpayers paying for God knows how many NON-ESSENTIAL workers?

I say let's have the Schumer Shut Down and then just tell all the people who won't be working not to come back.

”Figures released by the U. S. Department of Agriculture show that the average cost of one dozen eggs is now significantly cheaper than in recent days. The economic indicator website Trading Economics shows that a dozen eggs were $5.51 on Tuesday, more than $2 cheaper than "an all-time high of 8.17 in March of 2025." This represents a decrease of nearly 33 percent."

Damn, where is that at? They've not been higher than 3 bucks for more than a year here. On sale lately at a normal price.

That's cheap. Used to be about $2.50 a dozen here before the Democrats wrecked the economy. Went up to closer to $9 a dozen under Biden.
