UK nightclubs are “on the brink of extinction” and will vanish by the end of the decade if the current rate of closures continues, trade body The Night Time Industries Association (NTIA) has warned.

The projections are based on data revealing that, since March 2020, an average of three late-licensed music venues have shut down each week in the UK, leading to more than 150 closures annually.

The NTIA, which advocates for bars, pubs, and late-night venues in the UK, noted that, if the current trend of closures continues, the last club could shut by the end of 2029.

I'd ask if venues closing is the brand closing or the facilities closing. Like cafes there are always closures of who is operating out of the building and a new operator comes in. So if one operator goes broke and another opens at the same address it is not a big deal.

If the building ceases to be operated as a night club than it does mean something.

I don't know that it is a great loss. Maybe guys aren't going to meet girls and girls aren't going to meet guys. It is an expensive way to do that anyway.

Yeah, but it's the same in the USA. The nightclubs have been ripping off patrons for too long and giving very poor experiences to boot.

Been years since I bothered with a nightclub, mainly as the house parties were much better, and more active.
