I've watched and linked the NYPost video and I don't see a single joke about Charlie Kirk, just MAGA and Trump (with video of Trump that proves his point).

Trump appointee Carr brought government pressure to bear on ABC, resulting in cancelling of Kimmel's show, exactly as Trump had previously demanded and celebrated, just like he did when he cancelled Colbert.

The joke was directed at President Trump’s politicizing of the assassination of Charlie Kirk.

My breakdown of Jimmy Kimmel “joke”(there’s more to it than just a simple minded joke)

“We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them, and doing everything they can to score political points from it.” The idea is, people took no time at all fairly quickly to control the narrative early on even if it wasn’t factually accurate like the news pushing ‘pro transgender messages engraved on the bullets’ which were redacted from the primary sources pushing it. The idea of politicizing this tragedy on The Left Wing and The Right Wing is ridiculous and shameful, exposing those that didn’t care about human life more than the desire to weaponize it to demonize the other side (which happens on both sides of the aisle). The main idea is, politicizing a cold blooded murder of a journalist / prominent political figure is dead wrong and Trump is caught red handed.

“In between the finger-pointing, there was grieving. on Friday, the White House flew the flags at half staff which got some criticism but on a human level you can see how hard the president is taking this... He admired on a basic surface level President Trump taking initiative to lower the American Flag at half mast in support of Charlie Kirk, though showcased an issue with that display. That issue being, Trump didn’t really care about Charlie Kirk. Jimmy Kimmel went on to play a clip of Trump being asked how he is holding up from the death of his dear friend in which he quickly and joyfully pivoted the conversation to talk about his new presidential ballroom.

“ Yes, he’s at the fourth stage of grief: construction. demolition, construction. this is not how an adult grieves the murder of somebody he called a friend. this is how a four-year-old mourns a goldfish.” Again, contributing to the main idea of the monologue which was to highlight the politicizing of a murder that took the life of a prominent Right Wing figure. It was a critique of President Donald J Trump not a critique of Charlie Kirk when you break it down piece by piece for people to digest thoughtfully and carefully.

It is healthy to disagree with how Jimmy Kimmel went about highlighting the politicizing and handling of Charlie Kirk’s death at the hands of that bastard that killed him, you have to admit it was within his rights as an American and FCC shouldn’t have been so quick to dispose of his show. Quote A provides clarity as to who is to blame for the death of the late night talk show and it isn’t Disney or Abc at least not entirely.

Joe Biden and The Democrats had no right to censor or silence Fox News, Newsmax, and OANN which is why they are still on the air along with Fox and Friends, Guttfield Show, so on. Imagine if it were The Left censoring you and your media, now won’t you stop this slippery slope from getting worse when the next administration could easily be a Democrat or 2 administrations from the end of this one? It is a slippery slope. Stand up against the FCC which Howard Stern, David Letterman, Seth McFarlane, etc. have been fighting against for decades. This is not a Right Wing or Left Wing issue, it is a Constitutional Issue which affects all of us which has the potential of getting out of hand if we don’t seal Pandora’s Box now.

The joke is on all of us. this is just pure censorship and an assault on free speech because they can. Carr's response to someone on twitter saying 'this is in project 2025 by the way' was just this gif meme:

Here's his original fox interview (2nd of JK jokes), only part I'll spend time on. Observations... he's emotionally distanced from this.. not sure why, maybe he's been through the issue a few times so it's processed? Cna't say for sure. It does seem odd, I've pointed out some possible reasons why, but his mindset to me looks like avoidance of emotions or maybe he's converted from "loss" to... I got justification to take those "SOB's down"!

Observations: No way Biden could communicate as he did. Maybe Kamala could have done a more direct job reading script, she might ave been better emotionally.

The issue: The issue is the depiction of the president as something like a clown, a disconnected weird goof. It is funny, but it's also quite possibly... character assassination. It's a false depiction when you take in the context of the whole interview. That's the problem in media and if all you see is JK show or SNL, or other clips... easy to conclude he's a whack job. Don't people get fined for things like that... like major lawsuits?

If you were some kind of famous lawyer and I showed clips of you... snippets... of you put together to make you look like an idiot... you could sue for defamation. I think... that's the issue as I see it. Who knows... call NBC, the blinked.

The media is casting a false view of Trump and is feeding the disconnect in society. So they are "wacking" this thing now. I agree!

I'm tired of dealing with the issue. you all do the research... I have other things to do that spin over and over this. It is important to have free speech... but I think we all agree, it is possible to go too far even with politicians. I think NBC saw the line in the sand and concluded they crossed it.
