What's the correct way to sit on a broomstick?

When flying about on a broomstick what is the correct way to sit. Personally I prefer the brush at the back because it stops me slipping off but others swear you get better balance the other way.

Side saddle seems more ladylike, but a big part of being a witch is not being ladylike. Straddling with the bristles to the rear, especially if you use the broom for more traditional purposes when you’re not flying. All that yuck could be blown into your face if the bristles are in front and you fly moderately fast. 🤢🤮

But common sense would tell me that the girl would be the saddle, and the broomstick would have to be wedged in between each side of the saddlebags, just for grippage, in case she hits Turbo speed that's about all I can think of.

Of course, this is still debated in covens worldwide. For short distances I prefer side saddle just to show off and look all flashy and stuff.

Brush at the back. If only from a aerodynamic point of view, that's the way to go. I think it's the only way if you want to move fast.
