As a little kid in the earlier '70's I was frustrated that my dad was watching the news when I wanted to watch kids shows and we only had one TV. They'd talk about US soldiers getting attacked by armed guerillas and I'd imagine hairy gorillas wearing army helmets and ammo belts across their chests.

To me, the '70's was the redneck decade. My sister's boyfriend calling my little brother and I "turkeys". My dad complaining about hippies. As a kid, I thought it was a great time.

The C stands for Columbia. Now it stands for Cheaters. I remember 3 TV channels and no remote control. The TV had rabbit ears that had to be adjusted.

We had an RCA TV back in 1954. It had a very large screen compared to everybody else's TV in the neighborhood. I think it was 21 inches. I recall that my father paid $400 for the TV back then. $400 in 1954 is worth about $4800 today. Yikes.
