Iran is allowing Asian countries through the Strait of Hormuz, and now France and Spain can get safe passage too. Look for more EU countries to be allowed access as Iran is showing they are very willing to cut deals with every country but Israel and the US. Now military action on Iran alienates the US further from their former allies showing Iran outsmarted Trump through diplomacy. There's no possible way for Trump to claim any victory.

@permanentem I'm not at war with my own god. The question asked me to see myself as Iran. That requires me to see myself as a crazed cleric supreme leader who is waging war on Satan (US but more generally the West).

Historically too, it needs me to see Iran reborn as a great power again as it was in Xeres day before the West (in the form of Alexander the Great) buggered it all up.

Deserving to be a great power again is the common thread across Iran, Russia and China. Which means they have to knock off US (Satan) or Satan (US).

I don't think they will. First of all Trump bluffs often. Also USA bombing the power grid permits the mullahs to portray USA as the great satan and bombing the bridges would make a allied campaign harderd as well.

Moreover the Gulf states rely on desalination plants more than what Iran does.

I think a lot of this would depend on what deal I could make with Trump. If I couldn't make a reasonable deal, I would do what I'm doing now, which is just holding out and keeping the strait good and closed as it is now.

America is running out of weapons and that is why Trump wanted a truce . It takes years to build a lot of those weapons and US doesn't have many rare earth resources left to build those weapons. Iran has US just where they want them. US could run out of gasoline. Many countries are telling their people to walk insread of driving cars already. US has bombed them as hard as they can unless using a Nuke and it has not worked. Iran is still bomobing Israel into stone age. They are dug into the mountains , nukes can't get them.

The USA will never run out before they do, where do think most of our taxes have gone to mostly since World War Two? It goes to defense. Nobody has ran out of gas here, I’ve talked to people I know in other states and there’s no shortages at all, they just charge more for it , other countries are suffering near the war zone though
