Have you heard of the red vs blue button morality question?

Imagine every person on Earth magically gets teleported into a room alone where there's a red button and a blue button. If more than 50% of people push the blue button everyone survives. But if more than 50% of people push the red button then everyone who pushed the blue button dies.

Which button are you pushing?

Red button

Blue button

But do we all die if it's 50 - 50?

What happens if we all refuse to press a button?

Also the vote could be rigged because everyone could see which way people were voting, so to be on the safe side red would be the vote.

That is obviously a loaded question. Would it make a difference it the buttons were purple or orange.

I never considered the part of the population that might be colorblind. Or blind in general and just slapping buttons.🤔

So with the color of the button removed, the question becomes. Would you choose to save an entire population, or just the those who think like you.

But you don't know who thinks like you. That's why it's viewed as morality question. Do you choose red and assuredly protect your own life. Or do you choose blue to try to save EVERYONE'S life, even though it may cost you yours.
