In February 2026, BMO Financial Group reported that the average cost of a date (which includes gas, food, grooming, and more) hit $189, up 12.5% from last year—which laps the 2.7% inflation rate over the same period.

It's probably the dinner date, but that surely involves a few drinks and dessert and maybe some other activity. Just food and non-alcoholic drinks isn't anywhere near that still.

It all would depend on where and what you ordered. Two filets, two apps and a side dish or two could easily hit that number. My place it not uncommon any longer to see bills hit the $300 mark for two with dinner and cocktails. You can include seafood on that list as well.

No idea but I went with the cost of a dinner date. That's reasonable in my area for 2 people with dinner and a couple of drinks, maybe dessert and coffee. My solo tab on Friday nights can hit $150 before tip. But I'm hanging out in upscale joints in fairly swanky areas. I could easily drop that tab to $65 if I went somewhere else.

about 42 inch tv. prices fell cheaper from $450 in 2010 called plasma. but newer led same size is only $300 a drop of 30%!
