There are many schools to choose from. I am guessing that you are still in high school. Study biology if you can and you will certainly need to have good math skills. Try to find a job as a vet technician or you could even try volunteering at you local SPCA, there you might even have a chance to get your foot in the door; the SPCA has veterinarians on staff. Also check out www.vspn.org. It's a helpful site. You may even want to talk to a local vet. I used to be a veterinarian technician and was exposed to these helpful resources. I hope this helps, good luck.
I am a veteran. I left for US Army Basic Training five days after High School Graduation. I went to Fort Jackson South Carolina for Basic Training, then Fort Benning Georgia for School of Infantry. Then I went to Jump School and became a US Army Paratrooper. Stationed at Fort Bragg North Carolina, Deployed to Iraq, spent 14 months there, dodged I.E.D.s, Dodged bullets, and lost friends. I came home. My time serving in Iraq made me a Iraq Combat Veteran. If you do what I did, you'll be a veteran.
If your talking about becoming a Pet Doctor...Go to school
My stepdad is a veterinarian. In order to become one you have to take a full year of the four main sciences (physics, gen chemistry, organic chemistry, and biology)while you complete a bachelor degree at a university, and then you have to take a test similar to the MCAT, then apply for a vet school, then if you get a request for an interview from one of the schools you go give an interview. If you do well in the interview then you get accepted into the next class. It will also help you to have shadowed other veterinarians or worked as a tech, and also to have some volunteer work under your belt too.
I am a veteran. If you want to become a veteran you go see your local recruiter for one of the five branches of the military (the Coast Guard is normally part of the DOT but in times of war they are part of the DOD and work with the Navy). They will interview you and then send you to the nearest MEPS (Military Entrance and Processing Station) where you basically move through all the stations like an assembly line where they take your blood for tests, check your hearing and vision, have you strip down and get a physical examination, etc. You also need to take an ASVAB (forgot what it stands for) test which you need to get a minimum score to even get into the military (dif scores for dif branches), and then they look at your scores in the different areas to see which jobs you are qualified for if you get in. When you are done with all of that other stuff you talk to a liaison at the MEPS to decide which job you want and when you can leave for basic training, and when you leave for basic you leave out of that same MEPS.
Thanksgiving is right around the corner and just like the last year and the year before, you will most likely spend it with your family. And just like everyone else, you have a crazy uncle or an...
