Girls, my sister asked me to feel her breasts after she got them reconstructed and I said no and now she won't talk to me; why?

OK, my sister is recovering from breast cancer and she's been clear for a few months now and she got her breasts reconstructed. Today she got her bandages taken off and after we got home she walked up to me holding them and said "I'm not sure if they feel real, can you feel them and yell me?" I said no and now she won't talk to me. Why would she be that upset about me not feeling her boobs?

I'm glad she is recovering well! 🙂 Yes she is your sister but she wanted you to feel them for a couple of reasons:

1) Her self esteem would have been at rock bottom so she's going to be eager to get back to her usual confident self and may be proud of her new boobs. She probably just wanted to share her excitement with you;

2) She was not seeing or thinking of you like a brother but as a guy because your opinion would most likely be the honest opinion based upon what guys in general would think.

I would have felt them out of politeness and answered her question but I also understand why you didn't. I've done it with a co-worker; she had implants and wanted to know if they felt real enough. It was awkward at first but I felt them properly and gave her an answer (albeit we were in the pub on our lunch break and got some interesting looks from the guys already in there). Lol.

If you just explain to her why you said no so she would understand and hopefully not be upset. If you chose to feel them at that point then that's up to you. 🙂

She's been through a traumatic time and clearly her self esteem is extremely low. She's looking to you for some compassion. I do understand how you feel though because that is your sister but I think maybe on this one occasion you look beyond that.

I know it is very odd situation but i think she has no one but you for her to be comfortable to let her boobs touched? I mean, you two are family and she doesn't have to worry if you like the feeling or not
