Last year some Democrat politicians from Washington state (not D. C.) were enamored with Australia's compulsory attendance to voting booths on election days, and decided to take it upon themselves to try and make it illegal to not vote. This proposal died in committee last year, but apparently that wasn't enough to deter them from pushing for it a second time.

The Democrat's official reason for pushing for this is that it will "enable people to vote who currently cannot" and "make people more informed by giving them no choice but to vote". But knowing that a good chunk of Democrat voters often don't vote either out of laziness or out of protest, the more apparent motivation is that this bill is geared towards self-interest.

Representative Sam Hunt claims there will be no consequence for violating this law by not voting, but then why would you pass a law if there are no consequences for breaking it? What's going to happen if people break this law anyway? Fine them like in most countries where not voting at all is a crime? What's going to happen if someone gets fined and decided not to pay the fines? We already have people disobeying speed limits, but there are tangible consequences for that that range from fines to possibly imprisonment depending on how serious the infraction was (as well as the demeanor of the police involved).

A common argument that mandatory voting will lead to voters being more informed... this is just a dumb, baseless claim that has no merit to it whatsoever. Plenty of people who reliably vote already are dumb as a brick. I have been in electoral politics in the past, and holy shit have I run into people that make Patrick Star look like a genius without the brain coral. People who don't do basic research or are easily duped by ideologues, as well as people who blindly vote for candidates of a specific party regardless of what they will do once elected.

The 2030 World Cup has been awarded to Spain, Portugal, Morocco, Uruguay, Paraguay and Argentina.

Let me break it down piece by piece, for people who may not be familiar with the system.

So, 2030 was supposed to be the 100th anniversary of the first ever World Cup, which was held in Uruguay in 2030. In honor of the occasion, Uruguay submitted a joint bid with Argentina, Chile and Paraguay. However, Europe was arguing that it's THEIR turn to host again. And Morocco has been wanting to get in on the action for a while, and with their success in the last World Cup, their bid finally started being taken seriously.

Anyways, FIFA decided this would be a good compromise for everyone. Basically, they didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings. Now, what does this mean?

South America is only scheduled to host the opening matches. This means that after their first match, teams will need to fly across the Atlantic to play their remaining matches.

Additionally, the rules of FIFA state that the same confederation must have a 2 tournament gap before being eligable to host again. This means that the only confederations eligible to host the tournament in 2034 are Asia and Oceania, which opens the door for a potential joint Australia & New Zealand bid. This also means however that in 2038, the tournament can only be held in North America, which means we'll most likely see the U. S., Canada or Mexico hosting again, which are the only three nations in CONCACAF that meet the necessary criteria to host.

In short, it's a huge mess!

So I'm not sure if you know this, but in the UK democracy is not a right it is a privilege given by the Royal family in a time when Europe was killing off their kings (what a mess that caused it made way for Nazi Germany and Soviet Union) during this time the Royal family appointed power to the parliament. Anyway, Democracy is obviously broken in the UK and parliament is a absolute mess full with a bunch of idiots without a backbone.
I feel it is time Queen Elizabeth II removes Democracy and goes back to absolutely monarchy with a constitution of basic rights that cannot be changed and all current laws still stand and the Queen can add or remove laws where she and her congress see fit. She is the most reasonable person in all of Europe and Prince William will make a great fair king. I feel it is time for the Royal family to rebuild the Commonwealth freedoms and trade and a direct Trade deal with the USA to get the upper hand over Europe, which I'm sure can be done.

Don't get me wrong Democracy is great, but with all the political correctness that goes along with it we are being taken over my the world and they are trying to change our countries, if they don't like it here they are free to return home and fix their countries.

We need a real leader with a vision for the long term future of UK and trade with the Commonwealth, we were once the biggest, wealthiest and strongest empire/union in the world. Now UK is a slave to France and Germany and have lost the back bone, stiff upper lip and control of the country.
It's funny how although the Germanys lost the fight they have still won the war long term.

Have faith in your country and our Commonwealth we are all ready to stand strong together only if it's a hard brexit.
Otherwise kiss the toes of Germany and France.
