THE GREAT ESCAPE (Skyline Edition)

DizzyDesii

Thank you Red Blaze for inspiring me with your lovely question. Some days, I just lie back on my bed and admire all the different artwork around me... some being oil paintings, prints, and so on. The beauty of it all makes me feel at ease, at peace, so calm, so clean. I consider it my escape. And since I’m at work, I’m totally using this mytake as an excuse to escape all the worrisome students.

Below, you are about to see some of the cityscapes, landscapes and skylines that I’ve always admired. The ones that help to g-g-g-g-get out of London 🎶 After skimming through, I’d like you to post at least one or two places (that are not on the list) that put you at ease. It can be a place that you have visited, would like to visit, or simply admire but never intend to visit.

I’m gonna start this thing off a bit dry before we play around and get really wet lol. I’m sorry but its me, you know I had to say something simply corny and slightly dirty or else my name wouldn’t be Desii.

I was never all that crazy about trekking through the desert but flying over parts of Colorado and Nevada really enlightened me. As a kid, I used to want to just roll down the sand hills but I thought it would be totally dumb, especially after watching the snake scene from Prince of Persia. Yet, I come across these pics of the dunes and see that you can actually surf them! Like whaaat. If i wasn’t afraid of getting skinned up, I’d totally be down.

God gave me life. And I mean yea there was the work that my mom/dad put in as well. But then, there's also Vegasss, a place that gives me the next best liiiiife. This shit was truly overrated but I still want to go back. I love feelin like a Casino “Royal” lol. And its not even as hot there as people say. Its waaaay hotter down here in the Sip. At least over in Vegas, I felt like I was running through a sprinkler system. The shopping and sightseeing was everything! I love the city that never sleeps because I for sure hardly slept myself. The food however was a let down. But man, the pools and hotels makeup for it.

Then there's Dallas.
I don't know what it is about this place but I could see myself living there. I only imagine the summer heat there will be worse than here in the Sip. I just gotta go for the spices and the theme parks.

I don’t know much about Cappadocia, but I have always found hot air balloons beautiful, and to see them take off daily would be an amazing sight to see. Plus there's the hot Turkish dudes. It can’t get any better than this! Or can it?

Then there's Dubai bye bye that just makes you wanna say Helloooo. I mean the skyline of this place especially at night is just so beautiful. I really have no intentions of visiting but that don’t mean I won’t admire its beauty.

THE GREAT ESCAPE (Skyline Edition)

The Atlantis of Dubai nearly stole my heart, but it could never replace that of Paradise Island in Bahamas. I’ve been tryna get up in that thang since the Mary Kate & Ashley movie Holiday in the Sun! (I can’t be the only one who remembers that film with meanass Megan Fox lol. That soundtrack was everything with songs by Play and Weezer.) But i heard the people at Aquaventure waterpark are a bit snippy.

Miami is the one place that I’ll admit I’m going just for the food 😂👌 (I mean Australia too, but Australia has so much more to do lol.) Like sure there's the shopping, the beaches and the thrillerboat rides and maybe even a couple of yacht parties, but does it compare to that bomazz food!

For a girl who’s afraid of animals, I’m willing to risk it all for Australia baby. I’ll be dodging the koalas and kangaroos yet I’m not afraid to go swimming with the sharks, snakes and maybe some crocs. Like dammit I’m going to Whitsundays if its the last thing I scuba-diving scooby doo. And as for Sydney, I’ve always admired views of the opera house, I just have no intentions of visiting the city. I’m going solely for the Gold Coast baby!

When I think of Italy, there are two places that immediately come to mind. Thats Portofino in the day and Venice at night. I have this exact canvas of Venice above my bed. I couldn’t be happier falling asleep to this beauty. I don't know why i lost interest in actually visiting Italy, but I still enjoy admiring the place, plus Italian food will forever be my fave.

THE GREAT ESCAPE (Skyline Edition)

Mary Kate & Ashley movies really had me hooked on some places like Australia, Bahamas, Rome, and then of course there was Passport to Paris. I’m not looking to visit them anymore, but I get so lost in Paris when I see this oil painting by my fave painter Leonid. The man was amazeballs i tell ya!

THE GREAT ESCAPE (Skyline Edition)

Then you have Santorini. I just love how it rolls off my tongue... I mean not as good as Portofino, but still haha. I just love how Italy feeds me all these vibrant colors bt then Greece has me on cloud nine with all the whites and blues. Its so heavenly. No intentions of visiting but I certainly like the look of it.

THE GREAT ESCAPE (Skyline Edition)

Okay so I turned up the heat, got a little wet, and now I think its about time I chill. So, Here lies Aurora Borealis. I mean technically that shit spreads across a couple of places. I’d love to see the northern lights but I’ve also played Sims 3 and those aliens ain't about to scoop my ass up while I’m distracted by some glowy flowy night sky. Yea its one of the prettiest sites/sights you’ll ever see but it just ain't for me. I still can’t believe I passed up a skate deck with such artwork by Bob Ross tho.

THE GREAT ESCAPE (Skyline Edition)

I’m debating if I still want to visit New York.
I mean if i do, I’d go for the broadway musicals and pizza slices lol. But it was the bright lights and big city that lured me in from the get go.

THE GREAT ESCAPE (Skyline Edition)

I initially didn’t pay Canada much mind. But I’ll never forget how everyone back in high school was set on visiting this hotel surrounded by a lake and mountains. The Fairmont Chateau of Lake Louise truly is everything and I’ve made it a goal of mine to go. I’ll be admiring the lake and mountains from indoors though because fck i look like standing in the cold for more than 5 minutes haha!

THE GREAT ESCAPE (Skyline Edition)

So I’m throwing it back to Colorado again. I feel like Aspen is the next best thing in comparison to the Victoria Glacier. And although I nearly broke my neck skateboarding, I’m determined to try snowboarding down this baby. I mean just seeing this place when the sun has set is just... man.

I’m honestly not the outdoorsy type, bt its just something about these landscapes/cityscapes/skylines that I find so peaceful. I was actually watching this animal planet type channel and man the scenery was just breathtaking. But ain't no way I’m hiking no damn mountain with cougars and bears just to stop and stare 😂 I’ll watch that little bit from the tv screen haha.
