There is a difference between rough and ridiculous calluses, even people with rough hands should use lotion, and while it might be a turn on, it can also be a turn off. If a girl likes rough hands you're better off with soft hands and being somewhat rough with your hands strength wise. I know I like to know a guys is stronger than me, I'm not saying physical abuse, I'm say oolalala throw me against a wall so we can get busy. Although I used to have a drum teacher with the most ridiculously soft hands, so soft it made me wonder if my hands weren't soft, and it made him seem way too feminine and from that point on I always debated weather or not he was gay, no lie. So have soft hands but I suggest not having softer hands than a girl/girlfriends hands. Plus on a sexual note, who wants rough hands in there pants... Can you say scratchyness on soft skin... Just putting that one out there, it may be painful...

+1 yI don't mind either way, but what I do like is for the hands to be clean, and the nails to not have dirt under them. If he has been working hard, I can understand they might get mucky, but I can't stand grubby hands, because when you meet someone, its one of the first things you see, and if the hands were grubby it would tell me he has problems with hygiene.

I don't really mind, as long as his hands aren't sand paper rough. I'd suggest taking good care of them if you're willing to. Applying some hand cream never hurt anybody and no matter how you do it, I promise your hands will never end up as smooth, soft and silky as a girl's anyway. No need to worry about passing for a wuss because of it ;)

+1 yinteresting question. I have really smooth hands, have been told by several girls I used to date before. Most were surprised and some said they liked it. I really don't see how it makes you any tougher, when I shake hands with people I can make it just as firm as anyone else (some people actually complain my shake is too strong) and I have never hand any issues with manual labour. I used to do welding and to be honest I think I have an advanted over very rough hands because can weld with more precision. It is more genetic than anything else. I got my moms smooth hands while my dad has thicker leathery hand, but my dad works in the office all day while my mom has done all sort of manual labor from farming, to carpentry, cleaning etc.

I have soft hand, but I work hard. I'm a technical assistant, so I deal a lot with cargo and equipment, lifting and working a lot of heavy stuff such as lights and sound. I also play instruments so I have calluses on my hands, but somehow my hands are just naturally soft. I don't use lotions or special hand soap or nothing like that. So I wouldn't say it has anything to do with how hard a guy works. If anything, I don't think women care about how rough a guys' hands are as opposed to how rough he can be with those hands (in the right way).

+1 yI have smooth hands and I don't really like touching hands that are rough. it makes my hands feel rough, so if I was thinking about holding someone's hand for long term, I'd suggest them to moisturise their hands, but if it isn't really rough I guess I'd accept it.

"What? Why?"
"You're hands are too soft..."
I wonder if that would ever happen lol70 Reply
+1 yFirst off, I want to mention that I have a hand fetish and men have sexxxxy hands! lol I think somewhere in between is good, I can't stand dry rough skin especially when it comes to my own skin, so I guess I wouldn't prefer it on someone else if they were touching me. The shape and size of the hand are more important to me but if they are super super rough, than it would probably turn me off a little. But if they are too soft the same is true... that might be a little too feminine!

+1 yIf I had to pick one it'd be rough I guess. But really, as long as they don't have long nails I don't care. Long nails on guys is so gross, especially long shiny nails (nasty)
A guy I dated recently had longish nails so I made some sort of comment about how I wouldn't like a guy to have nails longer than mine. After that his nails were always super short. Gotta love a guy who can take a hint lol30 Reply
+1 yI like soft, smooth hands, but it doesn't matter much at all.
My boyfriend has really soft hands, but it's not because of upkeep, he just doesn't do much manual labor :P30 ReplyWell I don't do much labor nor I am going to some gym but still I have naturally in between hands (more like rough). I think reading the answers from girls here, they tend to like from in-between to rough hands. Girls are naughty, I'm telling you.

lol @ girls are naughty , very true
Well, I have man hands, they are huge and rough from swinging a hammer and carrying heavy stuff up a ladder all day which doesn't mean I don't take care of myself, I shower before work and have to shower after work so I'm clean all day.
10 ReplyAha, I've never really thought about it! My boyfriend has nice hands to hold so what ever his would be is what I like, but I'm biased in that opinion. XD He has some callus from playing guitar...so not too rough not too smooth? LOL!
00 ReplyI don't really care about the hands. I care about the guy the hands are attached to.

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yI know one of the things I find sexy about a man is his rough hands. In a way it's a sign of strength and shows he has character as he's willing to work hard.

totally with you
I have been told I have leathery hands that are not necessarily rough more like tough. I do a good amount of Carpentry and metal work as a hobbies and I'm not sure why I don't have rough hands but am glad I don't.
00 Replyi don't really mind to be honest. Guys do a lot of manual work so they are bound to have rough hands. I wouldn't say no to a guy cos I didn't like the feel of his hands ? that's just stupid .

+1 yI definitely like rough hands versus smooth, because it shows a sense that the guy is a hard worker and he doesn't really care about his appearance, but in actually working

+1 yI personally think inbewteen is the best. Rough hands could get in the way during intimate time and smooth hands feel a little to much like my own.
00 Replypersonally I'd like the rougher hands because it shows that they can use their hands work with them, not sit at a desk and shuffle papers.
01 ReplyNot fussed, don't care, as long as they don't feel like sand paper! If so, put some hand cream on!
