Ex-husband's cousin....

Ok, this sounds like some Jerry Springer stuff...

Anyway, my ex-husband's cousin was very close to both of us for some time & after about a year of me being really close to him, I had started developing feelings for him & he acted like he felt the same way.

For other reasons, my husband & I split, and afterwards his cousin & I began sleeping together for like 3 weeks. It was very hard because we could both tell we really cared for each other. Now the cousin has moved away & I still really care about him & want to be with him and I think he does me as well, but their entire family basically hates me now. On top of that, the cousin acts standoff - ish now. At one time he asked if I thought that one day my ex would be cool with us dating...so I guess I am curious if anyone thinks this would ever work. Also, do you think he still wants to be with me as well?

Yeah, no one in the family knows about us. He is actually joining the army now, so I am just maybe hoping when he gets out, if neither of us have found anyone...we can give it a go! What do you think?

Well some stuff like this has happened in my family but I like to admire from way far away! My dad has a huge family. Whenever they were younger, my dad's brother's all took turns dating this girl. As the story goes, it got pretty ugly as they fought over her. In the end, one of my uncle's actually ended up marrying her. To this day, no one thinks anything of it because it was such a long time ago.

I know it's not quite the same, but my point is...you're young and despite what the family thinks you should be with whoever makes you happy. Eventually everyone will get over it, even your husband. Anything is possible.

first of all if ya were sleeping together how did the entire family find out? it's none of thier business only you two. I don't think it will work because 1. you were dating his cousin 2. the family will be in your business so much it will be annoying. you won't be able to go to family gatherings like weddings or birthday parties. cause everyone will be talking about you guys and your ex might be there, ackward. I suggest you just keep the cousin as a f*** buddy but keep it between ya. no one else needs to know. but I don't think a relationship will work.

He is your husband's cousin. But you have split from your ex so how does it matter who you sleep with? The family is the only complication. It would work only if you both moved away from the family.

Ah...it's because they are always in everyone's business & I guess just because I left my husband they think that I am rejecting their whole family or something. They are just a bunch of drama queens & what-not. Ugh.

So, if they are drama queens cause you left your husband imagine what they will say if they found out about you dating his cousin....i guess when he comes back and you both still like each other you can try to make it work but you are going to have to stay clear of his family for awhile. the drama will ruin and stress your relationship.
