My ex wants to go on a trip together... a year after breaking up with me....why?

Last year my ex broke up with me but because we were living together we decided to stay friends. At first I didn't want to move out because I wanted to get back together, than later I realized seeing him all the time was keeping me from moving on. Anyway, I found my own place a few months ago and ever since I moved out I have seen my ex less and less. We still keep in contact over msn but even that has become less because I have new friends now and don't go online much.

Anyway, his 25th birthday is coming up and I said I could spend the day with him if he liked (because he did the same for me). He said he has to finish his thesis, but that we should go on a trip together the weekend after.

I find it really strange that he wants to go on a trip now, he used to hate trips when we were together. And when I asked if anyone else would come he said probably not (cause he only has 2 seats in his car). My question is why would he want to go on a trip now? Does he see that I am moving on and doesn't want to lose me?

I'm in the same situation but on the other end.

My girlfriend called it off a month ago, we live together I'm in the process of finding a place and moving out but she wants to go on a weekend trip to Orlando one weekend or a day trip to the Keys. I don't get it. The only thing I can tell you is these people are trouble.

I'm the kind of guy that wears his heart on his sleeve. I've been with this girl for (god it hurts to write this) 4 years. From the get go all my friends told be watch out, get out. She was always trying to find a reason to back out of the relationship in the beginning. First it was our family backgrounds, me gringo her Latina family (although she was born in America). Then it was my friends then my job, on and on down the list. I've gone from a very attractive, very happy, lots of friends person to a total wreck. I can't tell you how many times we have broken up and gotten back together. The horrors I've been through. I come from a terrible broken abusive home and I wanted so much to have a great loving relationship so much so that I blinded myself to all the tell tale signs of why this person was so wrong for me.

Some people are emotionally or relationship wise bipolar. One minute they are all lovey dovey and the next minute they want to kill you or are bitching you out.

I don't know what kind of guy this is or how long you've been together or the dynamic of your relationship but in my mind your better off not looking back on this one. If it's easier for you cut him off as a friend completely and stop communicating with him. These people are dangerous. Don't throw your life away over the idea of love or a relationship.

A tell tale sign if he is this kind of person is also if everything is always your fault. We went to counseling and it was always me. When I brought up my gripes she denied them and never took any responsibility ever in this relationship.

This is what is so dangerous about these people they actually believe in a perfect relationship. No relationship is perfect; you have to work at it.

If the other person is not willing to give it their all, or work problems out and come to a consensus on things, or put them aside then do they really love you? No.

Watch out for people that are not committed and who won't accept you for who you are.
