First of all, don’t be fooled by my age. It says that I’m in my early thirties but I’m really 24 (I put early thirties by mistake when I joined and don’t know how to fix it). He’s 33 and the girl he left me for is 34. He works for my aunt who has been trying to fix me up with guys for the past six years. Like many young girls, I’ve always been attracted to older men (aged 30+). I want to marry while I’m still young and have lots of kids, so when my aunt introduced us and he said he wanted a family, I was super excited, especially after I found out he’s financially well off, loves Jesus, wants a Christian woman who loves God but also loves to drink and have fun. The thing is, he told me at first he wasn’t in love with me and never will be. He was in love with her. He was only going out with me to appease my aunt. I thought he was starting to change his mind when he was cooking for me, taking me on romantic dates, asking me challenging questions about myself and he even took me with him to a weekend business trip to Boston and was being super cuddly and affectionate with me. He introduced me to his mom and the rest of his family and I thought he was forgetting her and falling in love with me. Then suddenly he springs it on me, my aunt and my family that he’s still with her and he has no intention of leaving and said he was sick of my aunt controlling him. He apologizes for me getting caught in the middle and then leaves to be with her. He said he played along to appease my aunt but he wanted a woman his age.
I don’t get it. She’s pretty and all, she’s also Christian and wants a family, but she’s also ten years older. Her fertility is on the verge of plummeting, and she might be able to give him one or two kids but why settle for that when I could give him more. And I’ve always believed if a woman is over thirty and still single, there’s a reason for it. I know a lot of men who feel the same. Was there something wrong with me that he didn’t like?
