Is there such thing as third chances?

Some people say that there is just second, do you beleive in any thing after that?

Whatever behavior that is repeated is learned behavior. Which means you've let him know that this behavior is okay with you because you keep giving more chances. Once he figures out that it's not going to work anymore he'll stop doing it. It would be helpful if you were more specific about your problem and what you giving a third chance for.

No, that's just being foolish. If you give people that many chances, they will just take advantage of the fact that they can run over you with no consequence. I don't even give second chances for extremely serious things because I feel if I was that important to you, you wouldn't have made that kind of "mistake" in the first place.

If I give a second chance and you do the same thing again, there is no need to give any more chances because basically that's ALL I will be doing is giving chance after chance. Evidently, the person is not remorseful if they are repeatedly messing up. Just my opinion of course.

Nope. This is where the saying, "fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me" comes from. Everyone is allowed one mistake, making it twice is nonsense. It proves you didn't learn anything the first time around, or didn't care about doing it again.

I tend to say no to third chances, especially about important things. It can show a pattern of negative behavior.
